The Ken Kirby Band is heavly influenced by traditional blues and classic rock redone in a contemporary, modern blues rock fashion. Such notible artists as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones have all had their hits recaptured and recorded in this genre. Great blues/rock artists such as Joe Bonamassa, John Mayer, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Delbert McClinton, Paul Rodgers and Gary Moore are what influences this band and our goal is to redo these classic hits in the same fashion as the above listed bands, keeping our show high energy, entertaining and never the same old songs done the same old way.

In the spring of 2006, a mutual friend of Ken and Bill invited both of them into the studio to lay some tracks down on a couple of songs. It was during this recording session that the idea to put a band together was conceived and the final outcome was the Ken Kirby Band. Our concept involves combining the emotional truth and raw sound of traditional blues together with the forcefulness and drive of classic rock bringing a distinctive dimension to what's authentic and powerful about the music without losing the heart and conviction of where it all began. Blues is about tradition and personal expression and at its core, the blues has remained the same since its inception. The Ken Kirby Band takes all the elements that make up that tradition and combines them into what is known today as Modern Blues Rock, a genre that pays homage to those vintage styles while simultaneously recasting them in a contemporary fashion. With a sound that has been described as "refreshing", the Ken Kirby Band delivers with straightforward, groovin' blues that'll get your feet moving!!
