I am best known for my work as a founder, writer and producer for the Squirrel Nut Zippers (SNZ) from 1993-1999. After leaving the band, I opened Kensway Recording Studio in Pittsboro, NC and founded The Maxwell/Mosher Publishing with fellow SNZ alumnus Tom Maxwell.
Maxwell/Mosher enjoyed its most successful year in 2006. In August, we recorded and produced “Have You Had Enough?” with Rickie Lee Jones and Howie Klein. “Have You Had Enough?” was a political call to action that we customized for nearly 100 progressive candidates nationwide. It was named the 2nd most effective political video of 2006 by Salon.com.
To view the Maxwell/Mosher online reel, please got to The Maxwell/Mosher Website and hit “Publishing Video.” You will also find a more comprehensive publishing credit history and audio samples of our recent work. All of our music was recorded, produced and mastered at my Kensway Studios in Pittsboro, NC.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
