Hailing from mainly the southern part of the country one wouldn’t expect to hear the same kind of feel-good, riveting sound in this five-piece band that was on the plane with bands like the Beatles or JET when they hit the shores of the U.S.. Knowing nothing more than what comes from the soul, Kennedy relies on the fact that all it takes for a great song is raw emotion and an electric sound of keys and a few guitars behind it to make it believable; rolling right at you.
Their live show only amplifies the heartbeat they create to energize and move over an entire crowd. If Nashville isn’t ready to set the stage for a sound that once emerged from the bullocks of cities like London and Memphis, then, heads could roll. The new “Nashville Sound” is Kennedy.
Since 2004, Kennedy has not only progressed their music but has also gone through with the replacements and additions of new members in the early part of 2007. The band is fronted by founding members, lead-singer Collin Brace and keys-man Troy Akers, Nate Fleming on drums
"Kennedy...A straight ahead, rock and roll style reminiscent of the black crows early days...Awesome vocals, a tight group of musicians...And their live performances are rockin' the scene...A great rock and roll band!!!" - Mike Hagan (KOPN - Columbia 89.5 FM)
"Big sounds + Edgy guitars + Intense passion for music = Just plain fun. Kennedy is an impressive band that combines all that we miss in rock... big sounds, powerful vocals and great songwriting. One can hope Kennedy's music only gets bigger." - Jon Dicus (Music City Unsigned)
“When I first heard Kennedy’s music it immediately pulled me in. I was touched at my musical heart and the songs gave me the same feelings I got the first time I heard The Replacements, Oasis, Bob Dylan or any of the artist that became instant classics before going on to influence scores of developing artists …” - Scott Egbert (VP of A&R Reverb Nation)
"Kennedy is a great band. They packed my venue on Beale Street, pulling people in from off the street. On Beale Street, with live music everywhere, that says everything. Perhaps even more telling, the staff loved them, and they have heard everybody." - Wesley D. Smith (River City Management)
"Kennedy's music is telling of their passion. This up-coming fall tour just goes to show how pro-active the group is about their career....just a small taste of amazing things to come I'm sure." - M. Cheuvront (Renegades of Rock)
