About me:
The Kennesaw Junior Chamber is the organization for young people between the ages of 18 and 40. Jaycees provides the opportunity and the tools for motivated individuals to develop their professional skills while improving their community. Areas of opportunity include Individual Development (public speaking, writing, interview and resume skills), Business Development (project planning, budgeting, and public relations), Community Development (community service and community fundraising) and International Development (promote understanding of diverse cultures and support national and international Jaycee projects) ______________________________________________________________ The Kennesaw Junior Chamber was established in 1963 and our past members have left their mark on Cobb County for generations. Many Kennesaw business and community leaders got their start as Jaycees, these include Former City of Kennesaw Mayor John Haynie, attorney R.Randall Bentley Sr, former Kennesaw City Councilmen: Pat Ferris, Ben Robertson, Frank Boone, Tom Mendenhall, Bobby Bentley, and Ivan Malone just to name a few. ______________________________________________________________ Kennesaw Jaycees’ General Membership Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of the month, at 7pm at the City of Kennesaw's Train Depot. The Kennesaw Jaycees General Membership Meetings are open to the public.
Who I'd like to meet:
Welcome from the Kennesaw Jaycees ______________________________________________________________ Welcome to our home on MySpace. In recognition of the fact that the Jaycees is an international organization we have initiated this web site to allow fellow Jaycees and the world community in general to find out more about our chapter. The Kennesaw Jaycees were founded nearly forty five years ago to extend the Jaycee movement and to serve the communities of Kennesaw and Cobb County. We are planning many exciting projects throughout the year. This web site is just one of the many ideas that our chapter has developed to help expand the Jaycee movement. I hope that you will return and find out the latest happenings of our chapter. Thank you for taking the time to visit our chapter on-line. If you have any comments please feel free to contact our Membership VP: David Maxwell – (770) 926-8590, President Sandra Dietz – (770) 906-1500, or email us at: kennesawjaycees@hotmail.com.

Who Are The Kennesaw Jaycees?
The Kennesaw Junior Chamber (Jaycees) is a fellowship of young people between the ages of 18-40. Our members live and/or work in the surrounding communities.

What Do the Jaycees Do?
Put simply, WE HELP PEOPLE. This simple slogan sums up what the Jaycees do and why we exist. We help people through personal growth programs, leadership development programs, and community involvement. The Jaycees provide its members with the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections.
Why Be a Jaycee?
Mostly, we believe the Jaycees is the avenue of choice for young people to become involved in their communities and develop the skills they’ll need to improve their careers, start a new business, become leaders in their community or fulfill a need for personal and professional growth.

It’s Easy to Join the Kennesaw Jaycees
To join, all you have to do is just attend a general meeting, pay your first year's dues, and you're in!! Dues are $57.50 for your first year and $52.50 every year after that.

Still having doubts??...Don't! Joining the Jaycees is one of the best things you can do for yourself, and the community. It is definitely worthwhile, and we have a lot of fun. You will probably end up doing things you never thought you'd do, meeting people you'd never otherwise meet, and possibly making friends you'll have for life.

Any questions? Feel free to contact the Kennesaw Jaycees via email (kennesawjaycees@hotmail.com) or feel free to come visit us at one of our general membership meetings to see what we are all about.

2007 Kennesaw Jaycees Christmas Assistance

Hello Kennesaw Jaycees,
The Chapter has adopted 3 families from the City of Kennesaw.
Shopping for these families, which includes 8 children, was completed today.

Now for the fun part, we will be wrapping and delivering these gifts to our adoptive families this Sunday (12/09/07). We will be meeting at the Hochman’s home at noon to gift wrap all the clothes and toys. We need your help to complete this project. Lunch will be provided by the chapter. We hope you can come and take part in this wonderful project. For directions, please call Chairman Susan Hochman (770-425-4324) or President Sandra at 770-906-1500.

On behalf of the Scott Bailey Foundation I wanted to thank you the Kennesaw Jaycees for coming out and supporting us at our 10th Annual Scott Bailey Classic held at the Seven Hills Community on Sunday September 2, 2007. You all did a wonderful job! The food was great and the “service with a smile” was unbeatable! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of people to help us represent the Scott Bailey Foundation. I hope that some of our attendees make their way to your great organization/chapter.

The Scott Bailey Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with philanthropic purposes. It was founded in 2000 for the purpose of continuing Scott Bailey’s name through

• Donations made to The American Cancer Society
• Contributions to his son Conner’s 529 Plan

This annual cornhole tournament is our foundation’s biggest fundraising vehicle and provides the endowments for the purposes outlined above. Your presence helps to make this event more and more successful each passing year. Thank you for coming out and supporting our efforts! We hope you were able to enjoy yourselves and that it was a profitable event for you as well.

One of Scott Bailey’s greatest gifts was his friendship. He gave it freely and unconditionally and each year at this tournament we are reminded and awed by this power of friendship as we all gather in reunion. Thank you for all you did and for making our 10th Annual an event to remember! We hope to see you next year!!

Sincerely,

Lisa Anne Betts, GA JCs & JCI Atlanta
and
Gary Cofield, SBF President
