Ken Banks

About me:

My best friend is an ornery, three-year-old shetland sheepdog named Tek. Tek can usually be found at my side, vying for my attention. I also have an adorable, trouble-seeking kitten named Crab Rangoon.

Recreational bodybuilding is probably the best thing in my life. I absolutely love to work out and improve my physique. My genetic shortcomings will prevent me from ever becoming huge or "jacked", but I do the best I can with what nature gave me. I really can't imagine my life without the gym, nor would I want to.

I am a huge Boston Red Sox fan, and absolutely love to follow the team each year. Each season is full of ups, downs, excitement and stress. Like most of New England, my favorite player is David Ortiz.

I am also a big fan of all things Rocky! I've loved the movie series nearly my entire life, and continue to learn about the franchise, annoyingly hum its many themes, quote the wisdom of its characters, and, of course, watch and re-watch any of the six installments whenever the mood strikes me ... which, frankly, is pretty often.

I have my bachelors degree from the University of Maine, and am very slowly chipping away at my masters degree, as well. I am seldom out of school entirely for any length of time, as I find it's the best way to avoid paying back my student loans. Whether I'll ever truly "use" one of my degrees remains to be seen.

Finally, I work full-time with the elderly, and part-time at a local animal shelter. Both jobs are trying, rewarding, and extremely dear to my heart.
