Meet Rocking Camel recording artist Kenny Acosta and his band The House Reckers. This year marks 43 years in the music industry for this highly talanted Baton Rouge Blues Icon. In Kenny’s illustrious career, he has played with all the greats; Muddy Waters, Roy Buchanan, Taj Mahal, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kim Wilson, The Neville Brothers, and so many more it’s even mind boggling to him.
Kenny’s latest CD, " Full Moon On Blues Street" was released by Rockin’ Camel Records On Aug. 17, 2007. It was produced by award winning producer, Johnny Sandlin and is already receiving rave revues by blues publications around the world. This is a powerful blues album and worthy of your time and consideration.
On June 11th, 05’ Baton Rouge Mayor, Kip Holden proclaimed it, Kenny Acosta Day in honor of the release of his last CD, "Spanish Town Mardi Gras".
In 2003, then mayor, Bobby Simpson made Kenny Honorary Mayor for a day at Baton Rouge’s Fest For All, on the blues stage, during Baton Rouge Blues Week; the first and only such award betowed upon a Baton Rouge Blues Man, to date. Kenny won the Baton Rouge Blues Society’s blues challenge. He then repersented The Society in Jan. 04’ at the International Blues Competition, held in Memphis, TN.
Kenny has established himself as a master bluesman in all his travels, from Key West, FL to Fox, AK and all points between. At a moments notice Kenny’s grooving down Funk St, swinging over to Latin Parkway, recollecting in Oldies Cove, or ripping down R&B Lane. But if it’s blues that you love, you will certianly enjoy this little slice on Heaven.
It’s a proven fact a great product will sell itself. Kenny may very well be that special something that your venue has been needing. His soulful voice and scorching guitar are combine with a super tight and funky rhythm section, that is one of the best ever to come out of South LA.
Yes, Kenny "has been lots of places and done lots of things", but bottom line is, he will entertian you with his Professionalism and Charisma.

One of the largest, single day Rock n' Roll parties in the valley's history is going to take place on June 7th at The Crossroads Music Hall, 115 Clinton Ave. E., in downtown Huntsville. "MUSIC 4 MEDS" is the "Concert to Benefit The Community Free Clinic". Doors open at 1:30PM, and music begins at 2:00PM, and will continue nonstop until the wee hours.
A minimum donation of $10.00 is requested.
I imagine we all wish we were wealthy enough to write a huge check to solve the problems that arise, but for most of us, the best we can do is pitch in a little, and try to get the job done. If you can afford to show up on June 7th and donate a few bucks, we promise to play our hearts out for you and make it worth your while.
Plan on coming out and being a part of this celebration. Together we can do a lot to help our community, and have a great time doing it! Hope to see you there!
Thanks so much for your help and support. - Sonny Edwards
