Here's a demo clip I did for Jeremy Stern at Boutique Tone. I put this up because the guitar had a beautiful tone and recorded very well. Thanks to the Momozone for shooting this.

KENNY SMILOVITCH: drawing down the moon
Drawing Down the Moon, documents Kenny's unique blend of blues inflected acoustic music. Mixed by JUNO award winner Michael Phillip Wojewoda, this debut CD won accolades by industry insiders and was well embraced by a growing fan base.
A compilation of new music and some older songs that never made it to tape. There is more of a roots quality to these songs than the previous cds and the feel is intimate and stripped down to minimal guitar and voice.
I guess I lean toward tumbling fingerstyle-driven tunes and subtle acoustic creations. I spend a lot of time trying to get different sounds out of the guitar without using too many effects. Most of my songs document personal experiences and incorporate some kind of repetitive rhythmic acoustic backdrop. I listen to a lot of African music and borrow from the circular groove approach you often find in the thumb harp, marimba or kora instruments associated with that music. I also enjoy the movement jazz music provides and pursue rhythms that are most comfortable reclining a little. Music for me is a lot about air and sound and feeling. Mix in these elements with a night sky, a full moon, or an open field and you have something like what I do. Folk Noir. Musical Haiku. Suspended Animation.
