About me:

.. ..

I was born to family of poor share-croppers in the rolling hills of Alabama. Okay, wait...that wasn't me...

Actually, I was born and raised in the suberbs of Nashville, TN. My family started off in a lower middle class area and worked their way into a nice medium middle class home. I didn't have it bad, but I definitely didn't have what I see some kids growing up with. (Hell, my own son has own TV, DVD player and Gamecube) I suppose we were the average family (Parents, 2 kids, 1 1/2 dogs) and therefore probably a little boring, so I'll skip to more about me (that is what this is about after all)...

While I could talk about my teenage years, a good chunk of it sucked and I don't like bringing up bad memories. It's amazing how crewl kids can be just because they yet to see beyond their own little insecure world. Luckily, a lot of us grow out of it at some point.

I left home for the Air Force about the age of 18 and spent about 7 years in various parts of the world. An amazing experience, I found I love to explore new places. Four of those years I spent on the island of Okinawa, Japan. Here, I met my best of friends and even my wife, Melissa. (No, she's not Japanese) You know, as lonely and homesick as we were, those years were the best years of my life. We even had our first child there, the cutest blond haired, green eyed japanese kid you'll ever meet.

After the military, Miss and I moved back to the states and ended up in southern california near her family. It was a rough struggle there for me. I was getting started in the civilian world of IT right in the middle of the Dot.Com crash. Companies that hired me also seemed to crumble away to nothing, leaving me in the unemployment line. Finally, after a few years of this I'd had enough. I packed my family up, (by this time we had our second child) and moved us back to Nashville in the hopes of getting our feet back on solid ground.

Here, I was able to find good employment in IT, especially for security. My family is here and so we've been able to get a firm footing on our lives, financially speaking. So, now we have a good sized house in Franklin, TN in a great neighborhood with great schools for the three kids. (Oh did I mention we had our third one here?)

I like it here but that doesn't mean that I'm not apt to moving again. If my dream job pops up, then we might be rounding up the wagons and moving the homestead somewhere else. (Granted, it would have to be a helluva dream job for Miss to consider it)
