Black Squirrel Radio is a radio station entirely maintained by college students, located on the campus of Kent State University in Northeastern Ohio. Our office and studio are located on the 2nd floor of Franklin Hall.
Not around Kent, Ohio? No problem! BSR broadcasts 24/7 online at http://www.blacksquirrelradio.com, so you can tune in anywhere at anytime, while doing pretty much anything (even while skydiving). If you are on Kent State's campus, you can hear our stream on television channels 2, 4 and 6. If you're jamming to our tunes in surrounding Portage County, BSR is available on Time Warner channel 16.
BSR broadcasts 24/7, but our excellent line-up of shows anchored by volunteer student DJs typically runs for 18 hours a day, from 8 AM to 2 AM. These shows, and our music in general, runs the entire spectrum of music, from techno to country to indie to hip-hop and everything in-between. BSR is also proud to support the local music scene, and several of our shows are dedicated to exploring the best in Kent music.
BSR also offers sports coverage and live broadcasts of Kent State athletics, and Black Squirrel Radio news tackles the issues affecting Kent State and the surrounding community.
