Ken has been described by the press as a "world music thaumaturge" (that means sorcerer) in the way he skillfully blends and incorporates so many styles of music.
Ken Young's epic album "Fairy Tales" is currently at the printers and it is recommended you pre-order a copy (or miss out, due to international demand for the art book it comes with!). Pre-Order Now!
Fairy Tales contains a rich and deep mix of so many styles, all featuring exquisite mucianship fueled by Ken's emotive, detailed guitar work. Some may be confused by the number of genres appearing on one album, from one man, but music is music and why be bound within the confines of a single style?
UPDATE: Answer to a question - what makes Fairy Tales so "epic"? To begin, the location it has been recorded in. A studio was custom built by myself for this album alone, and all done in a remote "outback" town 1200km away from the nearest city, which happens to be one of the most isolated cities on the planet (Perth)! Following this, it simply sounds epic. From huge compositions featuring large choirs and orchestral stylings, cellos, timpanis, through to soaring lead guitars and moving to intimate solo guitar and solo piano tracks, the album is a journey. A highlight of the album are also the number of instruments involved, most played by myself. There adds up to be 57 instruments on Fairy Tales, from all over the globe. Finally there is the art and book. The album comes packaged as a 56 page hard cover book featuring MANY stunning works of art by truly world class artists, from all over the planet. Many pieces of art were created solely for this album and can be seen at www.kenyoungmusic.com. The final product will include the Fairy Tales music album, a Bonus CD including a "radio play fairy tale" produced for this album by Ken Young. 3 random Art Cards out of a selection of 10. The 56 Page hard cover book featuring truly stunning artworks and a comic book by the incredible artist Natalia Pierandrei! Also included will be a card containing web access details for exclusive download content... All for the price of a regular CD (AU$29.99).
