Kered & Kiraly may be a new name on the global dance music circuit, but the combination of two long time DJs and producers has quickly gained international attention. Together, the two have found their way into the charts and sets of world-class DJs such as Pete Tong, Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo, John Acquaviva, David Waxman, Sultan, Mark Knight and many others. Their work has been signed to prestigious labels such as Azuli and Definitive and they have appeared on all three of Azuli’s 2006 major compilations – Azuli’s Space Ibiza 2006, Azuli’s Miami 2006, and Azuli’s 2006 Best Of.
Both Kered & Kiraly have been long time friends and acquaintances since the early 1990’s rave and club scene in Connecticut. Kiraly was a popular DJ and Kered a DJ with a love for promoting events. The two reconnected again in late 2005 at a nightclub and shared stories about music and old times. At the time, Kered had recently finished the “Believe” single with Kai (NYC) for Azuli Records and the label was looking for some new remixes of the track. Kiraly had been accumulating a studio since early 2001 and Kered asked Kiraly if he would be interested in collaborating on a remix of “Believe”. A few studio sessions later the remix was finished and it quickly gained support and accolades from DJs such as BT, John Acquaviva, Hernan Cattaneo, Sultan and others.
After the release of “Believe”, another offer to remix came through for long-time friend and mentor, John Acquaviva. John’s Definitive label signed a new artist by the name of Lazar and Kered & Kiraly were signed up to submit a remix of “Heat of the Moment”. The end result was a remix that really turned heads in the industry and people started to take notice as it was widely supported and played during Miami’s 2007 Winter Music Conference. The remix was also the best selling mix out of the package as it broke into Beatport’s Top 100 best selling chart and gained the support of Pete Tong (who dropped it on his Friday night BBC Radio 1 show), John Acquaviva, Deep Dish, Mark Knight and many more.
Today Kered & Kiraly are busy in the studio working on new original material and a slew of remixes. The duo also DJ regularly and hold down a monthly residency at Room 960 in their home town of Hartford and a bi-monthly residency at Rise, one of the top nightclubs in the country located in downtown Boston.
