I can't believe it's late November already. Time seems like it's just moving much quicker these days... must be all the fun! Last weekend in Los Angeles was a lot of fun. I was out there for two shows and both were really solid, although the Saturday night gig was a bit strange in set up and an interesting crowd. More on that... Heat, which is right near Disneyland in Anaheim, was rocking! This has become one of my favorite rooms to play as it attracts a great crowd who is up for a good time. Nice tight sound, good DJ booth and a great crew of friends and promoters out there. Abee Santana and his team do a great job of making you feel right at home and I enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to coming back again. The next night was Minx in the hills of Los Angeles. A cool venue, but the cold temperatures forced my terrace set inside and they made a make-shift DJ booth in a room that conflicted with the main room, which hosted top 40 and a lot of hip hop. The sound bleeding through was a bit distracting, but it worked out and I enjoyed it. Oh, I almost forgot... that Thursday I did a set at the Connecticut Science Center for their "Liquid Lounge" series and it was a blast. Always a pleasure to work with the team there as they have quite a vision for every event and overlook no detail. I dug way deep into my collection and ended the night with lots of classic disco tracks.
There's a new KeredCast for download. My special guest for this one is King Unique. Check it out!! www.keredcast.com
Busy weeks ahead... first up it's my second appearance at One Eleven in Hartford. I think this will be a fun night and I'm looking forward to an intimate show in this local hot spot... then coming on Friday November 27, Thanksgiving Weekend, it's my monthly residency SPRIS AFTERHOURS. This has become such a fun, crazy party and I can't wait... I also have Manny Rivera on opening duties, so come down and start it off right!!! Then Shish Lounge... Ibiza, the club, not the island... and a long overdue return to Room 960, a club I called home for just about 4 years! They've made significant improvements, remodeled and I am excited about this one... joining me for this night is Miami DJ and producer, Matt Spector.... get ready!!
The past two years have been an incredible time of growth and opportunity for Kered as both a DJ and a producer. The highlights include: being nominated for an International Dance Music Award at the 2008 WMC for best podcast. The Kered & Kiraly remix of Lazar being dropped by Pete Tong on his Essential Selection radio show on Friday nights to millions worldwide. The opportunity to remix Nadia Ali’s “Crash and Burn” single, her first release as a solo artist. Or maybe it could be, performing in front of thousands of clubbers worldwide in stops like Miami, Munich, Reykjavik, Ibiza, Montreal, Atlanta, Washington D.C. and more, including a spot as the opener for Tiesto on his Elements of Life 2007 and In Search of Sunrise 2008 tour stops in Hartford. That’s just the very beginning…
As a solo artist or as one half of the Kered & Kiraly duo, Kered never commits himself to one particular style of music – he simply plays what works. It’s not about genres, it’s about dropping the right tracks at the right time and entertaining people. His DJ sets are eclectic and include everything from house to peak hour techno and electro house. Being pigeonholed into one sound would be unfair, however, one thing is for certain – Kered always seems to add that extra “something” to any event he’s a part of.
In his hometown of Hartford, Kered has performed alongside international jet-set artists such as Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez, Tiesto, Sander Kleinenberg, Victor Calderone, Fedde le Grande, Hernan Cattaneo, Gabriel & Dresden, Benny Benassi, Dirty South and countless others. He held a weekly residency at Room 960 for an unprecedented four and a half years, a milestone in the clubbing community when clubs come and go in the blink of an eye.
Apart from DJing at the clubs and events, Kered can also be found in the studio working away on remixes and original productions. Kered is also the host and producer of the KeredCast, a dance music podcast that features the latest dance tracks and feature interviews and the world's top DJs that include Laidback Luke, Chus & Ceballos, Timo Maas, Axwell, Steve Lawler, Chris Lake, Paul Harris and more!
Stay tuned and keep an eye out – there’s much more to come!
