Pianist, Kerem Gorsev was born in Istanbul in 1961. His musical education started at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1967, and continued at the Istanbul State Conservatory. His love for jazz began during his years at the conservatory and he has performed at the various clubs in Istanbul both with Turkish and foreign musicians. .. ...... .. Recognized as a talented composer and pianist, Kerem Gorsev has produced many different projects starting with his first album, “Hands and Lips” in 1995, followed by his second album, “I Love May”, in 1996, both comprising his own compositions. Kerem Gorsev released his third album, "For Murat" in 1996 and his fourth album," Relaxing" in 1997. His next album was a piano-vocal duet album called "Laid-Back" with Allan Harris. .. Kerem Görsev has performed in two concerts with Elvin Jones Jazz Machine in Eskisehir Festival in 1998. .. "November in St.Petersburg" was a special project that was recorded with St.Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Orchestra in St. Petersburg in 1999. The album consists of Kerem Gorsev's compositions. This project was followed two new albums, “Warm Autumn” in 2001 and “Existence” in 2002. All consisting of Kerem Gorsev’s compositions, Existence is a cross over between jazz and classical music. .. Kerem Gorsev has finished recording “Meeting Point” in New York in November 2003. Russell Gunn, Eric Revis, Alvester Garnett and Marcus Strickland accompanied him in this album. All the pieces on the album are Kerem Gorsev’s own compositions. This album was released in March, 2004. .. His next album was a jazz trio album all consisting of Kerem Gorsev’s compositions. “Orange Juice” was released in October, 2005. He has performed this project at various cities and countries including the "13th International Istanbul Jazz Festival". This concert was recorded and released in DVD format. Kerem Gorsev Trio performed this project as the opening concert of International Vilnius Jazz Festival, Lithuania in 2005. .. Kerem Gorsev recorded his next album in April, 2007. This album is a duo album with Allan Harris and it consists of jazz standards from 1940's and 1960's. This album was released in 2007. .. Throughout the years, Kerem Gorsev has performed his own music at different venues and festivals in Turkey as well as international performances in Baku, Copenhagen, Muenster, Coesfeld, Stuttgart, Islamabad, Vilnius, Cyprus, Vienna and Bologna. .. In 2008, the artist has performed at the 36th Pescara Jazz Festival and 35th Umbria Jazz Festivals as Kerem Gorsev Trio followed by the 18th Akbank Jazz Festival in October 2008 with his newly formed trio, Kagan Yildiz at the bass and Ferit Odman at the drums. Finally, Kerem Gorsev performed his own project, "November in St.Petersburg" with the St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra on December 22nd, 2008 in St.Petersburg. .. Kerem Gorsev finished the recordings of his latest project "Diversion" in 2008. This album is a trio album and features eight new compositions. “Diversion” was released in January, 2009 . Kerem Görsev performed this project at the 6th International İzmir Jazz Festival . In February, Kerem Görsev Trio gave two performances at American Britich Academy in organised by the Turkish embassy in Muscat, Omman. Recently Kerem Görsev performed the opening concert of the 16th International Istanbul Jazz Festival with Fatih Erkoç on July 2nd,2009. .. Kerem GörsevTrio toured different cities in Turkey in last quarter of the year continuing into the beginning of 2010. In 2009, Diversion project was performed at various festivals and concert halls in Izmir, Side, Alanya, Antalya , Manisa and Istanbul. In 2010, he participated in the International Ankara Jazz Festival followed by a series of concerts in the southeast of the country, including Gaziantep, Antakya and Adana. These trio concerts were followed by a different concept of performances where the artist performed five concerts with vocalist Allan Harris with a repertoire of jazz standards from their own albums and more. .. Kerem Görsev finished the recordings of his latest album, "Therapy" , which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios with London Philharmonia Orchestra and conducted by Alan Broadbent on April 12-13, 2010. "Therapy" features ten compositions by Kerem Görsev. Musicians on the album include Ernie Watts (tenor sax), Kağan Yildiz ( doublebass) and Ferit Odman (drums). .. -
