Bio .. Kerieva - Vocalist, Multi-instrumentalist and Dancer- has forged a reputation as being one of the most original emerging artists to appear on the current music scene. However she has spent most of her life creating artful, experimental music that defies classification. .. Her dub-fused post-punk but jazzy sound is delivered lyrically with dark humour, and an unnerving honesty. Her stark songs, often bruisingly powerful, sung in both Romanés and English, contain a poetic abandon and are a social commentary on the human experience, both sacred and profane. .. Kerieva presents a refreshing twist on Romani (Gypsy) influenced contemporary music, and her latest album Stand Aside bears testimony to this, having been compared to artists as diverse as P.J Harvey, Bjork, Mitsoura and the Slits /Ari Up (RIP). .. Kerieva and 'Cellist Tania Lopez Bran are currently performing work from their latest show 'En Camino', which will be touring in 2012. Using loop station technology, live strings, vocal dexterity and Flamenco dance, this duo take you on an uplifting journey, where the sights and sounds of different terrains are the backdrop for the filling stations of the soul. .. Whether performing as a duo, as a 7 piece band, or as a Soundsystem, Kerieva has received an overwhelming response from audiences both in the UK and internationally at festivals, clubs and theatre venues. She has also been featured on BBC Radio, by presenters such as Mary Ann Kennedy and Max Reinhardt. .. Kerieva continues to collaborate with artists and producers, working closely with Steve Chandra Savale (AKA Chandrasonic) as guest vocalist on the latest Asian Dub Foundation album, (A History of Now-released Feb 2011), and live vocalist with ADF, having recently opened Brighton Festival to a sell out 2,000 capacity crowd. .. Her other collaborations include vocalist and writer on new album by Damon Minchella of Ocean Colour Scene, (being currently recorded), and working with producer Adrian Sherwood (Coldcut, Sinéad O'Connor, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, On-U Sound Records) on his 2 latest albums due for release 2011- a dub collective of female world vocalists singing in their indigenous languages, (Kerieva sings in Romanés), plus the new Dub Syndicate album. ..
