....On Faith in the Shadows (Gritty Ditty) Kerri teams up with producer/co writer Crit Harmon(Martin Sexton, Mary Gauthier) to present a somewhat dark but hopeful collection of 10 "alt country, bluesy Americana, rocking garage band, sung with a real deal voice" songs. Faith in the Shadows offers sparse production and razor sharp lyrics…a cohesive and refreshing collection of songs written and recorded over a two year period. Two songs off the album were chosen to appear in an episode of FX/Fox Network's, 'Rescue Me' in 2009 and Kerri kicked off the release of Faith in the Shadows by touring nationally, appearing at Philadelphia Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival (songwriting finalist), and making a more local appearance at The Boston Folk Festival in September. She made her debut in Europe in October/November, touring in support of Fred Eaglesmith throughout The Netherlands, Belgium, and The UK..... ....ADVANCE REVIEW OF FAITH IN THE SHADOWS: "Holy smokes this is damn good Americana. Earthy, sensual vocals and a band that's rock solid but never showy make this album a standout… not to take away from the interesting storytelling and imagery in the lyrics, the other star of the album is Powers' stunning vocals…with her ability to go from a whisper to belting it out, or somewhere in between, and always getting it right. It's a voice like molasses, sometimes dripping out slowly, sometimes sweet, and very sensual. It's a captivating album, and highly recommended." Peters, CD Baby.... ....Live Review/Boston Globe:"...her neo-trad country rock had vision and bite. The original song ''Tallulah Send a Car for Me'' had a Lucinda Williams brilliance, while a cover of Ivory Joe Hunter's ''Since I Met You Baby'' was stunning. Powers has a skilled acoustic-guitar touch...don't miss her next time." Steve Morse.... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... ..a9106c880c487ca1cde0246950b934b8..
