Born in the east coast of Scotland with a heritage of Gael, Chichewa and Ashkenazy Kerry has alwalys loved all music especially fusions of cultures. Early contributions to a Youth Scottish Ballet project as well as early composition led to concentrating on a real passion for jazz, latino and world music. This led her to work as a musician across Europe from Aberdeen to London and Germany to France.
Kerry has always written her own material and recently has explored an individual fusion of differing styles. Given her first public gig courtesy of Fionna Duncan and her trio, she has performed with musicians in the UK and abroad including Martin Taylor, Jamie Cullum, Bill Wyman. as well as a session for BBC Radio Scotland.
In August 2005 she supported Peter Cincotti at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh, performing two nights with her trio at Henry's Jazz Cellar as part of the Edinburgh Festival. She also performed the song "All I'll Ever Know" on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends special, live from the Edinburgh Festival.
Kerry performed at the Glasgow New Orleans Benefit later in the year as well as the Make Poverty History Live8 action. Recent gigs include the Glasgow Jazz Festival Fringe, and as guest soloist with the New Scottish Choir and Orchestra.
Media features include the Daily Record, Daily Mail and Scotland On Sunday newspapers. Most recent gigs include as soloist with trio/quartet of the Orchestra Jazz Siciliana, in Palermo May 2007. (Previous soloists including Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Dee Dee Bridgewater). Current residencies include several venues in the Champs Elyseés. Upcoming recording and album with Chilean guitarist Diego Baeza, Guiseppe Milici (harmonica), Remi Habib (Contrebass), Stephane Sanguine (Drum).
