KERUSSO’s BIO :
Jeremiah Slaton and Henry McGuire grew up as friends living in the same town having the same dream to sing and play music as their career. From elementary through high school they pursued their music with perseverance and passion. Jeremiah played in his family’s band called “Sounds of Praise” while Henry grew up singing in church and was an elite member of the middle and high school choir. Through this time period separately, they chased desires of their hearts. It was not until after high school they decided to take a step further by bringing each others history of music into one vision by creating a group called, “Anointed by U”.
In the spring of 2003, Anointed by U recorded their first song for a Christian talent search that took place nationally. The competition was put on by Daywind Recording and Trinity Broadcasting Networks. They were turned down the first year but this didn’t stop the dynamic duo! They practiced and worked together for another year. They entered and performed at the local county fair talent show where they took first place leading them to the Kentucky State Fair finals. A year later Anointed by U submitted another demo to the “Exalting Him” talent search put on by Daywind/TBN. This time around they received great feedback from the judges and an invitation to travel to Nashville, Tennessee to perform in the semifinals where the judges could propel their vision into a career. Anointed by U made their way to Nashville, TN and the judges’ decided they were not quite ready. They did not let this stop what God had birthed inside their hearts. They never gave up on the dream, so they came up with the idea to start a band.
In 2005, Anointed by U officially became a band. New members included Jerry Slaton (rhythm & lead guitar), Jesse Slaton (drums & bass), and Derek Clevidence (drums) all came into the picture. The band was coming together practicing and writing songs for their first self titled album which was released in the summer of 2006. There were over 100 copies of the album sold in their small town alone. This opened up many doors of ministry for the band to play at several different local events throughout the community. The community were captured by the bands desire to just want to play and sing music.
In 2007, again the band decided to add onto the band with a female vocalist, Laci Timmons, and sound engineer, Chuck Miller. In 2008, Greg Burnette was added on guitar. The band felt like it was time for another change, a name change. They searched and found the word Kerusso. Kerusso (Kay-roo-so) is a Greek word meaning “To Herald divine Truth: preach, proclaim, and publish.” After presenting the name Kerusso to the band, they decided that this was their goal and mission. They wanted to convey to the world, a message of love, hope and truth, which is Jesus Christ!!
To this day the band is still growing and moving in the direction that God is leading them. Kerusso showcases a unique contempary Christian/Gospel/Spontaneous style of music. This style of music reaches out to everyone who loves music no matter what your beliefs, gender, race, or age. Kerusso will capture you with their high energy performances and love for worship/music. Kerusso has performed at anti-drug rallies, benefit concerts, youth rallies, local and out of town churches, and Rely for Life to name a few. One of the biggest achievements for the band has been performing live on 91.5 FM radio station and W.V.T.N. Television. Another major achievement is performing in front of their largest crowd to date, around 500 people, at the Preparation and Purpose Conference in Evansville, Indiana. God Bless!

We are a holy ghost filled and anointed band who wants to lead the lost to the God, the only one who can save them! God is using musicians and song writers who will listen to his voice! Our greatest moments as a band is when we are flowing in the prophetic/spontaneous atomsphere of the Holy Spirit!

I have just launched a new service that provides song critiques for new up and coming independent artists.
This new service is part of my company, Inami Entertainment LLC. It allows the artist to have us listen to each song and give a detailed critique about the song’s strengths and weaknesses.
I believe artist need a professional, unbiased critique. My goal is to reach as many New Up and Coming Independent Artists with this service.

Happy Holidays to everyone. We within’ RFR just wanted to wish you all a safe Holiday Season, and update you a little bit on us. We are currently on break for the holiday, and starting up again immediately after the first of the year.
