SKY CAPTAIN and the world of tomorrow pretty much fulfills all of my pre-requisites for a perfect film....lets see, it had giant robots, lost civilizations,eye patches, sassy girl reporters,ray guns, british accents, monsters, rocket ships, mad scientists, jet packs,lots of inside joke movie refferences and of course escape pods.....and i mean....in an escape pod with a sassy girl reporter....it doesnt get any better than that.
forever good movies are the original star wars trilogy(until lucas continues to fuck with it, gives all the storm troopers and bobba fett kiwi accents,and adds in a CG alec guinness doing backflips fighting vader in episode four, and sneaks in frank oz mentioning midiclurients during lukes training on degobah....lucas...that fucking guy hates me), dune, LA confidential, blade runner, lost horizon, ghost busters, revenge of the nerds, blue velvet,raiders of the lost ark, the goonies, LOTR trilogy, rushmore,spirited away, 2001: a space odyssey, from russia with love, play it again sam, the thief of bagdad,the adventures of baron munchausen, and a ton of other geeky shit.
