Quite the diversified lot; from Etta James to Stevie Nicks to Joni Mitchell, with some Tom Waits for good measure and everyone else in between, including the local musicians that I've been honored to play with and listen to, seems like every day there is a new musical influence I get to discover.
Sounds Like
An intense combination of strong, soulful vocals and emotionally charged lyrics.
Nominated in 2008 for Best Acoustic Female Vocalist in Motif Magazine, Keturah's sound is as unique as her namesake. Her vocal range is dynamic and far stretching like the influences that inspire her. Drawing on the likes of Stevie Nicks, Etta James and Johnny Cash, Keturah's delivery comes from her soul, defying any particular genre. Hear her sing standards as the lead singer of Cadillac Martini, put a quirky spin on some old classics and new originals with Heather Rose as the duo Seriously Fierce, or catch her performing a solo acoustic set throughout New England. Seeing music as a language spoken by all, Keturah finds ways to present her craft in many forms for all ages to enjoy.
Keturah's debut album My Life As I've Known It, released in 2007, is available through CDBaby.com, ITunes.com, Rhapsody.com, and of course at all live shows! Please send booking requests to keturahburgess@hotmail.com

Powers Pub is participating in my slide show project titled “love is love.” It will include “real life” pictures of lesbian women living in New England… (ALL LGBTQ are invited to send pics!) "Love is Love" celebrates those of us who've come up against the odds to “come out”…just to live our lives as FREE... We are fiercely strong; yet, struggle daily to achieve an “equal” status.
As we continue the fight to be considered EQUAL under state laws, I invite you to contribute the photographic representations of your beauty- of YOU and your RIGHT to live and BE FREE.
Share this invite with all your friends. Time is running out- we need your support and your pictures!! Forward pictures to me through MySpace (golau), facebook (lpugliese@mail.uri.edu) or gmail laupugliese@gmail.com
Send as many as you’d like- or just send permission.
