I really don't know how to describe it. It's just one big mix of styles and influences..I really like to experiment with different kinda music styles to discover new cool vibes.
The Kev Black Project is a pure instrumental project. Its mostly inspired by desert kinda surfsongs..like the old Calexico and Dean Martinez stuff. I just started this project so maybe things will change in future...making music is an endless journey full of possibilities and challenges, so maybe that's why i don't hook up with a specific genre. The music listed in the audio player is not finished yet, some of the instruments stil have to be added..and these are just premixes, so don't be too critical ;-) Last summer I went to the Gambia with my friend and bassplayer Terral. We did a few very good jamsessions with the local youth but also the biggest reggaestar of West Africa; Njie B the Conquerer. Have a taste and make sure you visit his myspace! www.myspace.com/njiebtheconqueror

i really like your new tracks Kev! folklore -- with a twist -- the rivers of civilizations old and new ~ thanks for keeping it real! (btw: chilo trombone!)
Kev my man! Dude I love your style! Surf is very close to my heart as a guitar player, and you are doing great things with it all - if you ever find yourself out in cali...we should get together to write - I love mixing styles and taking risks...and making a classic style like surf fit into other genres is right up my alley - did you hear our song Ghost Surfer? Kinda Joe Satch meets dick dale - well keep up your great work my friend - Tone/Taste/Tenacity! rock on- ds

Yo Kevin! Alles goed? GRUWELIJK!!! Heb er zin an! In ieder geval tot vrijdag! Groet, Robin
