About me: my name is kev charlton aka kev bucket because of my band the LEGENDARY BESSIE AND THE ZINC BUCKETS, , im also bassist with the GROOVEDIGGERS a stripped to the bone rockabilly band ,and im playing bass with a red hot chili peppers tribute band, going by the name of the "REET HOT CHILI PEPPERS,
, my main basses are a 1977 musicman stingray , a 1979 musicman stingray , 1983 musicman cutlass , ernie ball musicman 5 string in vintage sunburst, a 1976 rickenbacker 4001 in burgundy , a 1995 usa fender jazz which i replaced the pick ups for quarter pounders and added a badass mark 3 bridge as the strings go through the body , , 12 string hamer bass ala cheap tricks tom petterson , a aria zzb custom deluxe ,a hondo rickenbacker 4001, and i bought a epiphone thunderbird bass because i tried about 9 gibson thunderbird basses at ghruns geetar shop in nashville and couldnt justify the price of an (original) !!
an ashbory bass with silicon strings and talcom powder !! and anyone who has tried or saw one of these basses will agree they are mad !! , two double basses, one is set up for jazz and blues, it's chech made, and one set up for rockabilly which is chinese, with a custom spray job by Kev Bambra (of HOLY RACKET) ,i have one set up with a fishman pickup into the fishman probass preamp/compresser and use steel strings on this one , and my rockabilly flash assed bass is rigged up with the k&k rockabilly pickup which i love !!! but i must admit when i heard a bassplayer from denmark called CURTIS JENSEN using the akg amplfied bridge my eyebrows were well and truly raised !!i just gotta get one ! i use la bella SUPERNILS and play allday and night without blisters due to these babys i play through a ashdown rackmount chrome evo 500 amp into an ashdown 4 x 10 , into an ultra rare ashdown powered 1x15 powered sub cab which can be felt all over the town we play in, i recently bought a mark bass 1x12 combo and it,s a little beauty , my REET HOT CHILI PEPPER rig is a Gallien Krueger 700rb 11 combo linked to the GK 1x15, a boss od-3 distortion, a digitech synth wah, job done ,NICE.
i love all boardriding sports , my 39 year love affair with Newcastle United has kept me sane all my life , music lover , oh and hang the dj, (cheers morrisey) death to false metal, All things good to know are difficult to learn.
