Sounds Like
A lot of people say that Kevens sounds a bit like Sting and Seal mixed up in a rootical reggae way. Over all, his music should be described as; an electic fusion of profound sounds, conscious lyrics, and inventive musical stylings.Incorporating the infectious energy of Jungle and drum and bass with the uplifting vibes of Progressive Reggae Rock.
KEVENS pronounced ( keevenz) started his musical career as a DJ spinning in the clubs of south Florida. His Live show is powerfully profound, with visual and sound effects that will astonish you. Known for his beautifully lush drum 'n' bass, mixed with a funky, progressive, rocking Reggae style, KEVENS is on a mission to provide the world with positivity. This former DJ turned singer/songwriter, strives to take people to a higher level of consciousness. He got his first proper introduction to the stage as an artist when he formed his progressive Reggae group Le Coup, with Bob Marley's half brothers Richard and Anthony.
Cedella Booker Marley, Bob Marley's mother, told young KEVENS very early in his musical career, "Like a letter, you must write a song with purpose". KEVENS's message of "Positivity is a Necessity" is always at the center of this art and his life. Though his elaborate stage costumes and theatrical concerts are pure 21st-century, his goal is timeless: to bring all races, cultures and backgrounds together. KEVENS has performed with, and has been seen along side, an eclectic array of greats including Chuck Berry, Carlos Santana, Steven Tyler, Prodigy, Moby, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff, Black Uhuru, Third World , Yellow man, KC and JoJo, Run DMC to name a few.
His song "Freedom" is one of the standout tracks from the internationally renowned Ultra Dance Music Film Festival DVD, which also contains tracks from Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk.
