Kevin Dale Ahart was born in Austin, Texas. For the past 5 years, Kevin has been asked to perform at some of the highest profile venues of his hometown, with the finest of jazz musicians.
Kevin is currently trying to perfect his skills within his favorite of elements, the small jazz combo. Often you will find him in a trio, quartet, or quintet made of superb musicians, for it is Kevin's motto, 'you are only as a good a singer as the people you make music with.' Kevin's strongest influences in this vein are Nat King Cole, a la Nat Cole Trio, and Carmen McRae.
Though Kevin has similar phrasing techniques to Sinatra and Holiday, like all 'Standard Singers' of today, Kevin seeks for what is special and unique in his own voice. Much like opera singers, 'Standard Singers' have the difficult task of singing tunes that have become immortal through past vocalists. The bar is constantly raised, but that is the challenge Kevin enjoys the most.
In his finest achievement, on the largest stage yet, Kevin competed in an international competition in New York City called IMTA. Kevin performed both as a singer and actor, and finished 3rd and 2nd respectfully in his division. On that trip, Kevin performed in front of a crowd of 3700 plus. That experience proved to Kevin what he was made for!
Hmmm. If you ever happen to be performing over here on this part of the east coast I'll be sure to grace you with my presence haha. You have a delicious voice, in case you didn't already know. Good luck with it all.
Do tell me kind sir, do you have a cd? I'm going to cry if you don't. If you do, tell me where exactly I am supposed to find it? It's so hard to find a good modern crooner. Most of them are too broadway-ish...or talentless lol. So yep. Just wondering.
Hope everything's going well for ya, buddy. The music sounds good. Keep it up, man. Hopefully we can still keep in touch, whether via the grace of MySpace or by some other means. Don't be a stranger, man. Chat atcha later.

A big thanks to all my friends... I just went over 10,000 listens on my player. I've added a fifth tune to my player, an arrangement of Scott Henderson's "Harpoon", the leader and guitar player of Tribal Tech.
