I am a Canadian composer, songwriter and guitarist very interested in both musical and visual art impressionism, and the ideas of the early 20th century symbolists. I am trying to discover words (symbolic lyric and phonetic structure) which also work with tone (favoring a quasi melodic and harmonic structure as opposed to the classical dissonant flavors) in the creation of a musical atmosphere and mood which evoke images, ideas and meaning transcending the material world. Of course the concept of 'love' is a perennial theme ... I think it was Plato or Aristophanes who suggested that love is the force which causes us to relentlessly seek completion... still an enigma...
I am inspired by the work of Dr. A.M. Davie, Prof. William (Buddy) Wynn, Joseph Campbell, Dale Pond, Walter Russell, George Gurdjieff, P.D. Ouspensky, Carl Jung, and Manly P. Hall, to name but a few on a long list of 'giants'...
