About Kevin Kiley & The Out-Patients
Open Jam Session @ The Franklin Tavern every Wednesday 8PM - 12AM
Roots Music - Blues, R&B, Rock'n'Roll, Soul, Funk, Country, etc. No cover!
97-99 Franklin Ave. West Orange, NJ 973-325-9899

Kevin Kiley is a vocalist and musical historian. Although he also plays harmonica and occasionally guitar, singing is what he does best. His influences include Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Felix Cavaliere, Paul Rogers, Bobby Darin, George Jones, Charlie Rich and a host of others.

Kevin Kiley and The Out-Patients are not just another blues band. They are a group of seasoned musicians playing music that they like, while putting their own slant on it. "R&B, soul, country, rock 'n' roll... it's ALL the blues, if you break it all down." says Kiley. Their focus is on music from the 50s, 60s and early 70s that had its origins in places like New Orleans, Detroit, Memphis, & New York as opposed to the more typical Chicago, Texas, or Delta styles. Though they shuffle and play a slow blues better than most, funky grooves, heartfelt ballads, vocal harmonies and good ol' ROCK 'N' ROLL are this bands' forte.

Kevin Kiley is a soulful singer with a dynamic, emotional stage presence. He also plays harmonica, but stresses : "This is NOT a "harmonica band." He does not play harmonica on every song. On rare occasions he straps on a guitar and whips out a slide. The rest of the Out-Patients are: Richie Noorigian, drums; Don Kenny or Rich Sussman, Fender bass; Lou Bevere, guitar & vocals; Joe Plum, guitar & vocals: Hilly Ephros or Eric Heilner, keyboards. To quote Kiley "I couldn't ask for a better group of guys to play this music with the FEEL that they bring to it."

This is a band that should be seen live. They are as exciting to watch as they are to hear. They will give you your money's worth, and then some. If you are tired of hearing the same old songs that are done by most of the other bands on the circuit, and you want to hear a band where the VOCALS take priority over instrumental solos(although the players get to shine, too), then check out Kevin Kiley & The Out-Patients for a refreshing change of pace. You'll be glad that you did.
