Bio
Kevin Leeds, known to his acquaintences as Johnny “Hambone” Walker, was born in time and place unknown. He spent his youth riding freight trains, raised by a motley band of hobo musicians, fugitives, philosophers and drunkards. By age 15 Johnny had developed quite a skill on the guitar and was playing juke joints throughout the South, well known in every farmhouse and jailhouse for his hot licks and raucous demeanor. At 21, after a three year stint on a prison work gang for what he described as a “crime of passion”, Johnny headed north to Chicago, where he recorded his first hit, “Jailhouse Blues number 2”. No fan of the cold weather, he soon set out on the road again, westward, some say, searching for “a home for my fiery soul”. His current whereabouts are unknown......... .... -
