In 2008, I linked up with the best musicians and friends around. I'm privileged to know them, let alone create amazing tunes with them. I was flown to different countries to play music, headlined venues of places that I had previously only driven by, and shared the stages with some of my biggest influences. As a musician, that’s all you can really ask for. I’ve also developed my best material - songs I’m most proud of. Two of those I recorded in a one-day session back in April. We decided to take a more old school approach, live takes. With no overdubs, punch-ins, or fancy pro-tools tricks, we came out with a sound 10x the vibe I had in the past.
I also was fortunate enough to take off on a travel trip for about 4 months. The trip was anything and everything. The most rooted experiences of my life. It was the foundation for my next album (I’m in the process of recording) as well as a lesson in humility. It was a reminder that life exists outside your peripherals and confirmation that the process of pursuing your dreams is evidence of how truly blessed your life really is. Plus I scored some really, really good waves.
I came back from the 10 or so countries we visited hungry to get back on stage and eager to record these new songs. I hope you dig them as much as I dig playing them. If you’ve seen me play before, expect a show in your area soon. If you haven’t yet, get ready for the Miso Experience, it’ll change your life. Or at least make you smile a few times.
