We are Kevinonabike. we do not play regurgitated pop-punk, we don't play indie, we don't play deathcore, hardcore punk or indie-punk. We play Rock, that's about as much generalizing as can be done. Through our music we aim to combine noise with melody, meaning and passion. Our songs deal with the real issues that we as youth deal with such as hostility in our hometown, struggles for social acceptance and above all (to put it grammatically incorrect) a search for boobs, we feel that everyone our age can connect with and relate to our music to some extent.
Glenn is the vocalist and bassist listens to almost every genre imaginable. To name but a few of his main influences, InMe, Finger Eleven, Thin Lizzy, Pendulum and Alice In Chains display a rounded taste in music. Glenn also writes all of the lyrics for the band's songs. Originally from Dublin, he moved to Blessington when he was 10 where he grew to be close friends with Colin and Daragh. As far as an interest in music was concerned within him, it came later than some people may think. He bought his first bass guitar after his 16th birthday but has since not been able to put it down. However, he has been singing for quite sometime, appearing in front of 500 people in the VEC Concert for his school when he was just 14. It was at that age that he became interested in the local Irish music scene and began attending local shows on an almost weekly basis. Eventually he found himself helping these shows to be run and met some great people along the way. It was this pathway that led him to finally wanting to be in a band of his own in 2006.
Daragh is a self-taught heavy metal drummer who prides himself on agressive yet impressive battering of the pots and pans. His main influences are Dave Lombardo of Slayer and Lars Ulrich of Metallica. Anyone who goes to a Kevinonabike show will instantly notice exactly how he pours everything into the live shows and how he lives for the music just as much, if not more than the rest.
Colin's melodic solos and backing vocals give Kevinonabike another dimension. Influenced by the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Van Halen and Thin Lizzy, once his turn to shine comes mid song, he never disappoints. Like Daragh, Colin is a native of Blessington and is particularly known on the internets for his fondness of boobs. In public life, he used to be known for his sheer devotion to yellow t-shirts but has since quelled this due to horrid threats made to his safety.
Liam joined Kevinonabike a few months after the departure of Rob Farrelly in 2007. Liam is the laid-back, long haired, classic rocker that completes the quartet. Severely fond of a pint every now and again (and again and again), he is never too far from the pub. Whether sober or drunk though, his light-hearted spirit shines through and is always up for a laugh. On stage though the only thing he is drunk with is coolness. He barely moves, just stays calm and relaxes, letting the music do the talking. Liam hails from Donard, where the hell is that?
In 2008 the band recorded their debut E.P. 'Cyclepath' in Hillside Studios, Wicklow. It was released in 2009 at a launch in Eamonn Doran's where the lads played tribute to everyone who helped them come this far, playing to nearly 200 people. The event was overseen by irishunsigned.com's Angela Macari O'Looney.

An alternative/ Indie/ Rock band hailing from Blessington, Kevinonabike have smart ass grunge riffs, bashing beats and one really hypnotic sound. There's no denying each of the guitarists have talent in abundance. Singer Glenn is a great front man, with the looks, the voice and is a fine bassist to boot!

The guys also joined forces with other bands to raise over €1000 for Cystic Fibrosis through means of growing beards for 7 weeks in an event known as the 'New Beard's Revolution', ending with Tash Wednesday. The summer of 2009 saw a further grand raised for CF with the highlight being a gig in Time (Ireland's biggest nightclub), Naas where the guys played in front of a large crowd that also saw the CWU present a cheque for a stunning €10,000 to the CF Association of Ireland.

With that, the future looks extremely bright for Kevinonabike. In the midst of an economic downturn, loud music is experiencing a Celtic Tiger of its own, Kevinonabike plan to be a firm part of that.
