    Kevin's Interests
GeneralAbove all else, I really love spending time with my incredible wife and amazing daughters. Nothing compares! When I have time for myself, I really love playing drums.
Music I Really like music. As a drummer there are three drummers that have really made an impact on my life as far as music goes, Dave Mattacks, Donald Ray Johnson, Idris Muhammad and Jeff Porcaro define to me what a drummer should be about. Their ability to play in any genre, the ability to make the drums a part of the song and not the song and lastly, be able to take something incredibly complex and make it sound vert simple. I can't count the amount of times I have heard on of them play something only to try it myself and find that there was way mor to it than originally thought! I like to listen to lots of bands an artists from a lot of different genres. Mark Schultz, MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Bebo Norman, Chris Rice, and Third Day are some of my favorite Christian artists. Toto, Styx, Journey, Reo Speedwagon, Chicago, Bon Jovi, The Scorpions are some of my favorite rock bands. Brad Paisley, George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Alison Krauss are among my favorite country artists. Bill Evans, Idris Muhammad, Jeff Hamilton Stan Getz, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, and Charlie Biddle. Then there are a lot of great bands and people that I would drive a thousand miles to see, Gov't Mule, moe., Rusted Root, Richie Havens, Dave Matthews Band, Robbie Dupree (check out his new CD. It is awesome!),Bruce Hornsby, John Fogerty, Weird Al (check out Bermuda Schwartz's myspace page)and Michael McDonnald.
MoviesMan I love movies! A few of my all time favorites are; Stand By Me, Galaxy Quest (ok stop the laughing, I really do love that movie), Office Space (that's my stapler), Rob Roy, Braveheart, Dune, Big Fish, Planet of the Apes (the original), Thief, That thing you do, Country,Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and A Wonderful Life.
TelevisionI love House MD, Monty Python and ANY college football game, since I have kids I am not above watching Sponge Bob Square Pants and if it is on TV Land or Nick at Night, there is a pretty good chance I am watching it too! And did I mention the Muppets?
BooksThe Bible and I have recently read Neil Peart's books, Traveling Music, Ghost Rider and Masked Rider.
HeroesSo many heroes, so little time and space. Jesus Christ, my Dad, family, every one of those fire fighters and police officers that ran into the World Trade Center when everyone else was running away, all of the men and women in uniform defending our country. I could go on for days

About me:
.. I'm a 43 year old husband and dad with Christian views. I love spending time on the drum kit. Thanks to Nate Morton's advice I studied with Grant Menefee. Grant helped me to be a musician when all I thought I would be was a drummer. He taught me more than how to play drums, he taught me how to play within the song. I have had the wonderful opportunity to play with some really great artists over the years. The Omega Band, the Carriers, Griff Worley, Bobby Katz and the Melody Bangers, Shelly Grant, Melissa Lattisaw, and my good buddy and brother in Christ, Nick Pino. I have a blessed life and music has been a big part of it. I endorse Saluda Cymbals, I use Slingerland Drums, Pearl Drums and Tama Drums (depending on the gig), Aquarian Drumheads Big Dog Drum Stuff pedals and hardware and Promark Drum sticks. I also have a very deep respect for Roy Burns of Aquarian and Herb Brochstein of Promark. These guys have dedicated their lives to drumming. What they have done for drummers worldwide simply cannot be overlooked or brushed aside. They are pillars to the drumming community.

One of Chris Rice's great songs! It can be interpreted many ways.

Who I'd like to meet:
People wih a strong sense of family, moral fortitude and chracter. Someone that knows the bible and walks in the way of Jesus Christ. I enjoy meeting other musicians and talking shop and I love talking about how music has worked in peoples lives and has given them hope. I also want to meet people that have had great life experiences and are willing to share them with me. We can learn much from each other.

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO
I have been blessed to be added to your
list of friends on the marvelous and wonderful
and awesome day the Lord has made for you
and me and everyone else.

Hey Kevin thanks for the Big ole add I
hope and pray your having a wonderful
and blessed Friday and weekend
and new 2007 year in the Lord.

It’s a New Year to rejoice in the Word and
presents of the Lord. I pray that God will
instill in your heart to reach out and be a
strong evangelist for Him, that He can and
will use you to be a mouth piece for Him.

I have reflected over the past 14 years in
Ministry last night and I have been overwhelmed
in all the different countries like Asia, Europe, Australia,
Mexico, Canada, just to name and few and seen
the Lord touch the lives of so many people. When
they have asked Him into there hearts.
Its has been an awesome 2006 and please keep
the ministry and those who have come to know the
Lord that they will continue to grow and move
the Gospel of Christ forward.

I am in Brazil right now until May 14th preach,
teaching and doing street witnessing all over in
several different cities, and you can read what God is
doing while I am there each day on my new road log.
I also ask for your prayers during that time and also for
my wife while I am away from home for 6 weeks.

If you check my website while I am in Brazil, you can read
what God is doing on my road log. I am hoping that I
will be able to post something everyday, Lord willing.

Peace in our Savior Jesus Christ

Hey there, Kevin!

I just wanted to give you a heads up about the new blog entry I posted the other day. It's less of a "here are my profound thoughts" thing and more of a random "getting to know you" kinda thing... I hope you'll check it out and leave a blog comment.

BTW, I'm really pumped to tell you that - as of this week - my new CD "Bring Glory" is now available on iTunes ... :-)

Have a great day!

Hey Kevin, thanks for using my song on your site man. As far as needing a drummer, my drummer is coming back into town for good, but he might be switching to guitar, so if we do need one, I'll definitely consider you.

God Bless
