Sounds Like
The songwriting simplicity of Tom Petty, a voice similar to John Mayer / early Bon Jovi, the energy of Gavin Degraw, and a piano style that crosses Bruce Hornsby with Ben Folds.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, Kevin taught himself to play the keyboard at the age of seven. By 13 he'd moved to England and was saving all his pocket money to buy his first four-track recorder and microphone. At age 18 he was back at school teaching composition, performance and music production.
Kevin Rowe is a talented singer-songwriter and accomplished pianist. He cites Orbital and William Orbit as his earliest musical influences. His distinctive voice has been compared with Bruce Hornsby and John Mayer; his writing style is more akin to Tom Petty.
With a first class honours degree in music production, Kevin is in demand as a successful producer and sound engineer and increasingly as a performer. Now based in the beautiful UK city of Bath, he continues to combine university teaching with a busy schedule running his own music production suite.
The Kevin Rowe band was formed in early 2004 and quickly developed a substantial live vibe in the UK, demonstrating a crossover into acoustic and rock styles that belied Kevin's early electronic influences. The album 'Kevin Rowe Live' was recorded in 2005 and released independently to critical acclaim in the UK and the US.
The studio album '10am' released in 2009 has been written and produced by Kevin. Early reviews have been ecstatic.
"...[Kevin] plays piano with passion and soul... deeply sensitive and dynamic..."
