Being born and raised in Detroit, I grew up listening to everything. While I was a young boy learning to play guitar I found an appreciation for rock, jazz, blues and R&B/ Soul Music.
I believe that I am a mixture of all the American styles.
I always like to shake things up a bit !

Kevin Russell (guitar & vocals)
The Motor City born and raised Kevin Russell has a very unique blend blues, rock and soul. Kevin says: "It's a Motor City thing!" Kevin is a contemporary artist known in hip musical circles and by fans worldwide. He is a provocative player and his daring spirit is always apparent.
Moving to Hollywood to follow his dream, Kevin first rose to prominence with his classic rock band 707. Scoring a couple of rock radio classics hits and toured playing arenas throughout the 80's. Kevin has also played with a who’s who list of recording and touring artists throughout his career.
Kevin’s perseverance is evident on every recording and every live performance. It has been said many times that Kevin is inspiring, poignant and very expressive!
Kevin’s appreciation of blues always shines through in his passionate guitar playing and captivating vocals. You get sucked in and realize how important this music really is to him.
Kevin is considered a very soulful guitar player as well as a singer/songwriter and record producer.
In talking with long time friends, other artists, and fans they all seem to share a common view, which is whether you are listening to a Kevin Russell original or a classic tune he has covered, you feel his heartbreak, struggles and triumphs that connect us all to the music.
Kevin is certainly known around the greater Bay Area as one half of The Russell Bros.
Kevin's CD "My Generation" was the 1 most added CD on smooth jazz radio across the nation for 6 weeks in row!
Having recently finished over 360 shows in the cast of the Broadway Smash Hit Show "Jersey Boys" (NYC on Broadway & San Francisco's Curran Theater)
Kevin is now back doing what he loves to do most and that is playing his style of contemporary blues "live" in support of the new release "Soul Generation."

Kevin is widely known throughout the blues/rock & R&B music scene. Kevin’s work is best known with the Robert Cray Band in which he has held the drum position for many years. Kevin has toured the world over delighting music lovers with his infectious grooves. He is the “Groove King.”
Kevin has recorded and/or toured with B.B. King, Boz Scaggs, John Hiatt, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Charlie Musslewhite, Santana, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker and the list of credits goes on & on…..
Kevin has played on and off with Kevin Russell / The Russell Brothers every moment he could spare over the years. Together the two Kevins share an uncanny musical vibe that is intoxicating, magical and very powerful!

Matt Pinder (bass/vocals)
Matt is a native of Northern California. Having grown up in a musically rich household during his formative years (being the son of Mike Pinder of The Moody Blues) Matt picked up the bass at a very young age. Learning to play different styles came fairly natural to Matt. Also
having studied with Brad Russell (bass player extraordinaire) helped Matt to hone his bass skills!
Matt is a wonderfully talented player and has great stage presence as well as a strong command of his instrument.
As one half of the Pinder Bros. (with brother Mike) Matt started playing gigs very early on in his career and has recorded several cd’s as well.
Matt is now a very welcomed part of The Kevin Russell Trio.
