A native of Columbus, OH, Kevin began playing guitar at age 9. At the age of 16, he began performing professionally with the Hank Marr Trio. Over the years, Kevin has performed and recorded with many artists, from Ray Charles to Destiny's Child. Kevin holds a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies- Performance from The Ohio State University (1985) and a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1998). Since 1995, Kevin and his wife, Cynthia, have been recording, writing and producing under there publishing company Marina Park Music, and record label, SeeSon Records. Kevin nationally released his Stellar-nominated debut jazz cd of hymns entitled HIM in October 2005, and is currently the guitarist for world-renowned saxophonist, Kirk Whalum. Kevin also produced the debut gospel cd project of his wife's gospel ensemble, Cynthia Turner and Heartspeak (entitled, "Just Because"), and is currently working on their sophomore album. In addition, Kevin teaches elementary, middle and high school orchestra. However, he considers his greatest joy to be that of raising his two young sons, Julien and Justen.
