Kevin T. White began playing bass when he was 11 years old and had his first professional gig in 1984 at the age of 14.Coming up through the Boston blues scene in the early 90's,Kevin played with blues prodigy Moster Mike Welsh,Grammy winner Susan Tedeschi and Boston blues icon Rick Russell,who worked as the house band for the House of Blues in Cambridge,Massachusett.During his time at the house of blues,kevin played alongside a stream of blues legends including Bo Diddley,Ronnie Earl,Peter Wolf and Toni Lynn Washington
Kevin struck out on his own in 1995 and formed an original blues-rock band with his guitarist brother Keith James White.The band Brother Soul,performed extensively throughout the New England blues circuit.
In 1996 at the invitation of Brad Fernquist,who went on to play with Michelle Branch,Fastball and the New Radicals,Kevin moved to Caliafonia and quickly established himself in the San francisco music scene.He began playing with several notable artists including California Music Award nominee Noelle Hampton.While working with Noelle,Kevin played Lilith Fair and co-headlined San Francisco's venerable Fillmore Auditorium where he also opened for Pat Benatar and joined Noelle for an apperance on ABC telavision's "live from the starlight room".
While working with Noelle, Kevin was invited to proform with Grammy Award winning artist SHELBY LYNNE in a Universal Showcase at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco.While Shelby,he proformed at the CMJ Music Conference in New York City opening for Willie Nelson at the Bottom Line.He then joined Shelby on a promo tour in the UK.While in London, he appeared on "later with Jools Holland" on Billy Bragg's on BBC radio 1.and the variety show TFI fridays. a recording obligation with Noelle prevented Kevin from accepting Shelby's invitation to continue to tour with her in the states.
Between 2000 and 2002,Kevin worked extensively with blues artist Daniel Castro.Playing close to 250 shows a year,Also during this time Kevin worked with singer/songwriter Heather Combs,Indie rockers the FINGERS,classic soul soul artist Will Porter and the Caliafornia All Stars and Hightone Recording Artist James Armstrong.While with Will Porter,Kevin played with Grammy winner Al Wilson ( show and tell),soul legend Barbara Lewis,The Coasters,The Drifters and muti grammy winner BILLY PRESTON.
In 2003 Kevin joined OR Music recording artist Essence on an east coast tour that ended with a proformance at the sxsw music conference in Austin,While continuing to work with Essence,Kevin began working with other singer/songwriters most notably BETH WATERS and can be heard on beth's upcoming cd due out in the fall of 06.
In 2004 former Counting Crows drummer Steve Boman recommended Kevin to fill the bassist spot with New West recoring artist CHUCK PROPHET and The Mission Express with whom he currently tours.in the spring of 06 Kevin started working with Austin Gutarist/singer PAPA MALI and when not working with chuck Kevin continues to work with Beth Waters ,Essence,Britteny Shane, as well as write and record in the Bay Area.in the summer of 2006 kevin went to Italy backing up blind pig recording artist, New Orleans guitarist JOHN MOONEY.in the fall of 2006 kevin started working with the san francisco rock band LUCE.live and in the studio
...also in the fall of 06 kevin played in the studio with San Francisco singer/song writer cas lucas and can be heard on his new cd coming out early in o7.........in the summer of 07 kevin toured with blues guitarist and wc handy winner CHRIS CAIN also in the summer of 07 kevin worked with bay area band the BITTERSWEETS as fall begins kevin set to tour europe/us behind Chuck Prophet latest record SOAP AND WATER on YEP ROC RECORDS as well as record two new releases by LUCE a covers ep and their new forth coming record.........
in jan 08 Kevin appeared on CBS "late night with david letterman" with Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express.later that month he played on NBC'S Later with Carson Daly also with Chuck Prophet.as well as NPR'S Weekend edition.witch was followed by a North America tour as was as two tours of Europe.kevin also played on the LUCE cd Songs from the covers catolog.
