Artist and Producer Kevin Wood has just released his third album, KINDRED, a follow-up to the popular CDs Sacred and Scenic Listening. Guest artists on KINDRED include Virgie Ravenhawk (Native American flute), Nhanda Devi (vocals), and Tim Tingle (Native American chant - Choctaw). KINDRED was debuted and performed at the Deepak Chopra meditation retreat, "Seduction of Spirit," in Austin, TX.

My purpose in writing the music for the album SACRED was to bring together some of the most spiritual elements in the world. To me, this was Gregorian chant and Native American chant. An unusual pairing, but the result was deeply moving and spiritual for me.
My hope in writing the music for my newest album, KINDRED, was to express and demonstrate how we are all much more connected than we may even realize. This album features beautiful chants from all over the world woven with modern grooves and ethereal sounds. Vocals draw upon Celtic, Native American, Gregorian, & Indian traditions.

Hello, Kevin. I must say that I am a good fan of your music. Its pastoral flavor and fanciful instrumentation really makes it exceptional music for the imagination.
I myself am a struggling composer. I've only had two purchases of my debut album "Bluetide Salon" so far. My music style is a very eclectic and fantastical fusion of ambient, electronica, world music, and orchestral. I will sometimes combine genres in a single song to create something no one ever heard before. I have a feeling that my music will captivate many people with its uniqueness and awe; I'm just trying to find such people.

Recently, I added a new song to my music player called, "Always" which might be one of the best songs I've written so far. Tthe chorus was scored for an entire violin section, however, in studio, I had one violinist, Jan "Yes I Can" Sullins. I asked her to single handedly create the sound of a "Hollywood style" string section. This is almost like telling someone, "Please jump rope one handed 10 times while monkeys nip at your feet."
Lucky for me, Jan worked some magic and now you can hear it on track 1 in my music player. It's called "Always" and is from my upcoming album, "Awakening," to be released June 16th.
