Kevin Yarger doesn’t have the typical “banging on pots and pans since kindergarten” stories that a lot of drummers seem to have. Rather he didn’t get started until band was offered in the 5th grade. Since his older cousin was a percussionist, Kevin naturally gravitated towards percussion while keeping a close eye on the drum set. After an invite from his 6th grade teacher to play his drum set after class, Kevin’s infatuation with drums was set in stone. Upon receiving his first kit a couple months later, Kevin played in any ensemble that needed a beat all through Jr. High and High School and won several different awards in the process. Deciding to take his percussion education further Kevin attended Millikin University majoring in music business with an emphasis in percussion performance. There he gained experience in the studio playing on numerous recordings for fellow students as well in performing in the many different ensemble the program provided.. Currently Kevin keeps a busy schedule with a large roster of students as well as performing regionally with several groups from the central Illinois area.

hey, what's up man? things are going great, im in the drumline at west, playing tenors, and my band had an end of the year concert, plus we won our school's battle of the bands, and earlier in the year we got 3rd in the battle of the bands here in town, and we might be recording soon, how are things going for you?
