My name is Ruby Mae Niedlmeyer. I'm an old vaudevillian who chose to settle down in Lawrence, KS. I live in a little cottage on the grounds of the Rock Chalk Home for the Aged. Life is slow these days, so I like to day dream about when I was a beautiful young girl touring the Keith-Orpheum circuit with my Feline Follies. Ah the 1920s! Those were the days!

Music
We're not allowed to play music anymore here at Rock Chalk ever since Margaret Olstenwurtz blew out the speakers in her Hi-Fi listening to that damn Mitch Miller. It agitated the nurses something awful, and pretty soon we got the word: no more music for anyone! But you know honey, so many of us are stone deaf we can't hear it anyway, so why complain? My favorite singers were always Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland and Peggy Lee, back when I used to put on a record or two.
Television
Honey, to tell you the truth, I don't watch that much television. A PBS show here or a TCM movie there. I do like to watch that Jon Stewart and his Daily Show. And Steven Colbert too, if my nurse Ethelred let's me stay up that long.
One show I DO like is "Mad Men" on AMC. Ethelreda and I can't wait for Season 3! I like that Jon Hamm fella. He sure is one handsome hunk of granite.
