Sounds Like
Pure, uncut underground rock from four high-toned sons of bitches with blackened souls!
With the preservation of Mobile’s rich underground music legacy embedded deep in their souls, the members of Keychain Pistol are hell-bent on bringing their version of the Mobtown Underground sound to every cruddy corner of the United States. Keychain Pistol was born after the demise of All That’s Left (formerly Emelio Sanchez). Guitarist Chris Davis and drummer Mark Christian were driven to continue their musical partnership in a new form. In order to complete this task, Christian recruited longtime friend The Rev. Vertigo to do some time on bass. Jonah Adams was picked up in order to create a more complete sound to their music. After drawing inspiration from bands such as Against Me!, Fugazi, The Pixies and Bad Brains as well as a few practices fuelled by various chemicals, their bond began to organically form, and new music began flowing out of their minds and instruments with ease. Songs such as “Give Me Something” and “Turn You Off” reflect back to the skate punk sounds of the past. “Old Ghost” and “Static” reflect more of a modern underground sound. On November 18, 2006, Keychain Pistol introduced their music to the public at Head on the Door in Montgomery to a very positive response. Their music has allowed them toplay with such bands as The Tossers and Clutch. With a new sound deeply influenced by underground tradition and a vehemence that is a direct assault upon the emo or core sounds, Keychain Pistol’s full-length debut “Keeps the Shakes Away” has made its way into the public with its music being pumped out of various CD players, venues and radio stations.
