Keynote New York, LLC is a music consulting company that offers aspiring artists a connection to music industry professionals through its selective A&R services. These connections are achieved through a careful search for superior talent whose selected work is then promoted through compilation albums, industry networking showcases and licensing. With its finger on the pulse of the music scene, Keynote New York seeks out those artists with the greatest potential for success and brings them to the forefront. Keynote New York’s premier album “Pure Sounds From Underground - Volume 1” and all future compilations will offer a variety of genres such as rock, pop, blues and hip-hop.
Keynote New York began in the summer of 2003 as an initiative at New York University by Jana Kohoutova, student of the Entertainment and Media Management program. Inspired by the concept of keeping the network of future music industry professionals and artists going beyond the classroom, Jana created an internet networking forum. This forum allowed the participants to broaden their horizons within the industry by staying informed, sharing the latest music news, job/gig postings and event invitations. The network further evolved when Trina Campbell and Nelia Wolosky joined the team, and a grass-roots networking group was incorporated in the summer of 2006, making Keynote New York, LLC one of the music industry’s growing women-owned music consulting companies.
