5-piece band that originated in Chillicothe, OH in 2000. When we first played together, 3 of the members were instructors at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe. Together, we played many a live show, and recorded an album together. Unfortunately, some in-fighting spoiled what seemed too good to be true, and after recording 99% of the album, mixing most of it, and never mastering it, the band broke up :-(
Who knows if there is still a future for Keywise. My guess is not, but it's a damned shame, because it was probably the best band I've ever been a part of.
I went to Berklee College of music straight out of high school for 2 years and became a more "serious" musician in the process. Following this, I joined a band based out of Capital university called "Monkeytown Philharmoniq" (an obscure reference to an old Simpsons episode). The bass player and singer of this band (one of the singers, I should say) was Tony Brock, long-time friend since middle-school. In the Summer of '92, before our Freshman year of high school, we both decided to start taking lessons. I took guitar lessons and he took drum lessons...both from the same teacher, oddly enough. We played together in a series of bands throughout high school, and both went on to pursue higher education in music. When I came home from Berklee, Tony invited me into his college band. The other lead singer, and rhythm guitarist in Monkeytown was Chad Loughrige, who is the drummer for Keywise (and a damned good one, I might add). Chad went on to teach at the Recording Workshop where he met Steve Thomas and Brian Humphries, who were in the process of re-forming the band Keywise. Chad contacted Tony and me, and the result is Keywise. I hope you enjoy the fruits of our toils...we all put a lot of work into the recordings you will find on this page.
