Simon Levene - supplies the vocals, groovy electric and tortured acoustic guitars, as well as most of the songs. Simon claims to come from Manchester, England. This, however, is unconfirmed.
John Sahs - a highly talented drummer who was discovered beside his vintage kit humming almost-forgotten Beatles tunes. He provides the danceable beats and sexy fills. And "backing vocals" projected from his massive beard.
The Goose - was found wandering the streets north of Lodo playing Ramones tunes for change. He adds the sacred bass groove that we fantasize about at night. He also sings...for a price.
Vic Jannatpour - contributes infectious energy, tasty guitar licks and lilting backing vocals. He brings his sublime green Les Paul (among other beautiful guitars) to our array of instruments. He also dances like a dream.

NEWS FLASH!!!
NEWS FLASH!!!
KFAD will be performing "Here Comes Summer" live on Channel 4 Morning News at 7! Be sure to catch us at 7:45 AM (yes, we know...you can always tivo it if you need to) on KCNC CBS Channel 4 this Sunday, July 6 - we'll not only be playing the tune, we'll be interviewed as well! Then go see Simon & Vic that night and tease them about how they look on TV.
King For A Day was formed in April 2004 and are based around Broomfield, Colorado. We play an original brand of acoustic brit-pop with a hint of folk/rock and freakbeat thrown in for good measure. Kind of like the Monkees meeting Oasis at a party thrown by the Kinks, with the Who spiking the punch. If you find the description confusing, check us out live. It may not clear up the confusion, but we promise to entertain you.
Latest groovy news:
Love and hugs to all of our friends – we wouldn’t do it without you! (Well, we might – but it wouldn’t be as much fun). We’re taking a short sabbatical until August – the reason for which you’ll know as soon as possible. It’s a good reason. Then it’s back to business as usual – rumor has it that a new LP will be in the works. Details are being worked out even as you read this! As they are, we’ll let you know.
So as to not deprive you of all KFAD-related frivolity, Simon and Vic are appearing at the wonderful Waterloo Icehouse on Sunday, July 6th. It’s an early (6:00) acoustic show – come for dinner, hear some music, have a drink and be home by 10! It gets no better than that! Plus, Johnny will be lurking about – make him buy you a beer!
Simon has written a book! Well, he’s always written loads o’lyrics – all of ours, for instance – and he’s compiled them into a lovely volume, along with pictures and original artwork. Perfect for the KFAD collector or the lyric lover. Preview before you buy here.

As well as all of the venues we played, the bands we shared a stage with, especially those who lent a drum kit or cymbals or amplifiers as needed, everyone who provided us with a much-needed beer (or Sprite), and most of all (fill in your name here). We love you!
Some lovely things said about us:
From Westword:
"King's neatly groomed pop is built upon layers and layers of acoustic and electric guitar that give the outfit a disarming depth."
"Vacilating between bittersweet delicacy and highly charged rock, at times the group resembles a long-lost American cousin of the Kinks...nonetheless, the members have managed to find their own voice..."
"...hooky melodies, sugary harmonies, tidy structures and sincere crooning..."
"Levene and his crew have the capacity to be great."
From Colorado Music Buzz:
"...King For A Day is poised to dominate the Indie/Pop Rock scene..."
"...KFAD will most definitely entertain you with great songwriting and musical talent."
From Suz Music Reviews:
"King For A Day has a refreshing sound that exudes a melodious familiarity! Simon Levene's lyrics are both beguiling and enjoyable, even the KFAD novice will be stirred to the dance floor!"
The Bon Bon Club are Sushi Quatro (bass, vox), Thirsty Moore (drums, vox) and Chapatti Smith (perc, vox), although Sushi and Thirsty are better known under different names for their day job as the rhythm section of Sheffield glam-popsters The Long Blondes.
