Where to begin, Where to begin?
Let's start with my favorite thing, outdoor activities! I'm big into hiking be it a quick jaunt in the local woods or going up a mountain. A group of college buds and I go each year and climb Mt. Washington. This is our annual guy’s trip, we spend the weekend getting fresh air and exercise; finishing it off with lots of cold beer and a steak meal. Do you know how beer goes to your head after you've climbed a mountain? Good Times. I also spend time hiking around North East Connecticut in places like Bigaelow Hallow, Soapstone Mountain and Valley Falls. Other outdoors activites that I dig are Mountain and Road Biking. I don't mountain bike like I used to; instead I spend a lot more of my time on the road bike racking up the miles.
Sports are something I like to play and watch. Unfortunately I'm notso hotso at playing in my rec softball and volleyball leagues. However, I am good at going out for a beer afterwards. As for watching, I make a few Red Sox games a year up at Fenway and try to hit some other major parks as well like Camden Yards and Wrigley Field. Whenever the Pats game is on, you can bet I'm tuned in. Same goes with UConn basketball, the best graduation gift I recieved was the 1999 NCAA Championship.
It sounds like I run around quite a bit, but I also like to take it easy and sit on my back porch with a good book. Weather permitting, of course. If it's too cold for that, then sitting in front of my fireplace with a warm drink and a good book. More and more I like to relax and enjoy the small things in life like the smell of food on the grill, the laughter of some friends and a cold drink. Thats the good life. | | Music | It depends on my mood. In the normal day to day events I've got my XM tuned into the Alternative Rock stations (Ethel, Lucy, Fred). When I'm feeling mellow and want some relaxing I love listening to Rock from the late 60's to early 70's. Those days that I need a jolt and am raring to go, throw some punk on and I'm good to go. | | Movies | Any and all kinds. I find myself drawn more and more to quirky dramas these days. But I still like a silly comedy, mindless action or thought provoking independent film to help me lose my mind for a few hours. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone but I even enjoy the occasional chick flick.
My notso secret vice is bad movies. That morphed into the (in)famous Bad Beer/Bad Movie night. What is that? Ask and find out. | | Television | There are only two shows that I have to watch each week: The Shield and my personal addiction Lost. Other than those two the Sox game is usually playing somewhere in the background. During condo improvement kicks I get sucked into HGTV (dork alert!). If I want to just veg in front of the TV, History Channel or Discovery are always great. | | Books | Way too many to list | | Heroes | Carl Sagan |

About me:
If my friends and family were to describe me they would say that I’m the guy that always looks at the glass as half full.
|
| My namesake |
Yup, I’m overly positive and, as Monty Python said, always looking at the bright side of life. I’m very extroverted and outgoing so any person I’ve met more than once is a friend to me. With my friends I do a variety of different things like catching ball games (Go Sox!),
grabbing some cold beers or shooting a round of golf (usually not too well). With some of my closer friends I like to ride my bicycle, spend time outdoors hiking or traveling. Some history, I grew up in Vernon, CT graduating from Rockville High in 1989. Then I joined the Navy for six years as a Navy Nuke. Someone in personnel has a sense of humor because they put met on the USS Enterprise. Once my enlistment was up I went to UConn for my undergrad. After college I backpacked around Europe and still have quite the travel bug. Now I'm working full time and attending UConn for my Masters. Drop a line and say Hi.
