I am most enamored with indie/rock/pop bands who are from England or from the Northwest. Or ones that sound like ones that are. I also love a lot of alt-country. And anything that was on K-Whale, "Alaska's Modern Rock" between '94-'98 still holds a special place in my heart.

I read maybe like one book a year. I can only read books on vacation. I took two vacations this summer and finished one book! It was A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, by Dave Eggers. That was really good.
Now I'm reading The Culturally Savvy Christian, by Dick Staub, which is also good, but in a different way. There's less cussing, to begin with.
And I'm still in the midst of "Mountains Beyond Mountains" by Tracy Kidder, which I started like two years ago.

I know it seems like it has been forever since we did a show in Seattle but heres your chance to catch us. We play from 930pm-12am this Friday night 12/5 at Tost in Seattle. It has been a busy fall with touring and recording and we have some wild new material that we cant wait to share with our hometown peeps! Also on the horizon is New Years eve at Moxie in Queen Anne. We thank you again for your support and look forward to seeing you at the show.
i just looked up locksley's myspace page and you're right - he was faking the british accent. they're from freakin' wisconsin. i feel used and i'm going to turn in my locksley fan club membership card. hmph.
Hmmm...now I'm not suggesting anything out loud...parentheses means whispering in my online world...but...(could a move to Portland be on the horizon for the Captain Kirkleton?)
There certainly seems to be a pretty evident negative undercurrent in Seattle these days. All the stuff that makes Seattle Seattle seems to be hightailing it out of there.
And to think - all that time I didn't think that anyone would notice if I left. As it turns out, my leaving has apparently led to the destruction of all things Seattle. I had no idea that I wielded so much untapped power.
Seriously - what in the hell is happening out there? The Croc, The Sunset Bowl, the original Sonic Boom, the Fun Forest, the Supersonics...all within a few months...Seattle is losing its soul!!
yeah... the croc closing makes me sad. thanks a lot for the package-- i've been listening to it a bunch. i didn't know they were so bluegrass/country... its good stuff. and yes, janet is a sassy one.
The Croc closed?!? What the hell is happening out there?
I just logged onto the PI website and that was the headline...that they hosted a show on Sunday and then all of a sudden closed on Monday. Insanity! Say it ain't so!
Hey Big Kirkious! Yup, I'm off to the Echo on the 3rd for the VW show. Should be good, right in Xavier's backyard no less. Low vs. Diamond is tasty. I hope things are well up there! I think I may eat Turkey with the Mell' clan. Nothing like Gravy and JOEL! lol take care bro.
i would just like to point out that on my page under Who I'd Like to Meet, I've had a picture of Dwight & Jim for, oh i don't know, a long time. and you've now met one and passed by the other one. i think it's ok for me to hate you now.
i didn't buy it until late last night, and haven't gotten the chance to listen to it much.
the concert was awesome. they played disintegration off of their EP, stay on my side tonight, which is one of my fav. songs. otherwise the song was so great and everything i wanted it to be.
one note: he did mention between songs, "Hey, last time we were here, we played with smoosh. I was sick that night." yeah, i knew there was a reason that show wasn't as good as i expected it to be.
