Check out Khalil Amani's interview on "Out The Box" with Tim Dillinger!!!! This Sunday (01-13-08), my special guest on "Out The Box" will be author Khalil Amani, whose latest book "Hip-Hop Homophobes, " has been getting quite a reaction from those who have heard about it. I had the opportunity to read the book prior to inteviewing Mr. Amani and I found myself underlining passages and devouring what is a most accessible book. Writing this book in such a readable format had to be quite a task, given the heavy nature of the subject matter. "Hip-Hop Homophobes" disasembles the case that Christianity has used for thousands of years to deem homosexuality as a sin. Bold, right? He delves deep into Biblical history and takes the Scriptures beyond the words presented to us by King James and the interpretations that followed him. He also teaches us a lesson in culture, explaining the who, what, wheres and whys that would give the real meaning of these scriptures that have been so sadly manipulated and twisted. He also forces us to examine gender rules (a big one for me) and our definitions of gender that are more rooted in our narrow cultural vision than anything Biblical. And finally, he gives an indepth look at the rise of homo-hop and interviews a host of artists who are breaking ground in this new, unchartered genre.--Tim Dillinger Be sure to tune in on Sunday to hear my interview with Mr. Amani...Listen at 9 AM or 7 PM EST at www.jazzsyndicate.co.uk. You can join me for live chat during the AM show at www.timdillinger.com/forum. My daughter Nicole & me at Rick Ross concert.

Who I'd like to meet:

I've met a lot of great people in my short lived life. The greatest living person I've met (who's now deceased) was Stokely Carmichael a.k.a. Kwame Toure. If you don't know who he was go study Black History. Stokely was the head of a college organization dubbed S.N.C.C. (pronounced "snick")(Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), which fought for black people's Civil Rights. He later joined the Black Panther Party and helped introduce such phrases as "All Power to the People!" and "Black Power!" I had the honor of introducing him at a local Million Man March rally in Omaha in 1995. I stood next to and embraced a living legend, an icon for social justice! I've met many entertainers, including rappers Common, Chuck D., Andre 3000, Fabolous, Kanye West, Ray J, Talib Kweli, Yoyo, Katt Williams, and Eryka Badu. Dr. Cornel West is a brilliant mind whom I had the occassion to meet. I met the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan on several occasions. And of course, those of you who know me intimately know that I was a student/elder and one of the spiritual sons of Yahweh Ben Yahweh, the notorious and infamous Black Hebrew Israelite teacher. We lived in the same building for five years. I would love to have known Amenhotep, Jesus, Confucious, Muhammad, Guatama (the Buddha), J.F.K., and M.L.K.. Can a brotha please meet Halle Berry? (Oooh-la-la!), Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, 50 Cent... so I can drop some knowledge on him about the hateration in the rap world and P. Diddy. I would love to have known my mother as a grown man! But the most important person I met was ME! ... when I finally accepted who I am as a man and a father and a husband and an intellectual. Some people never find out who they are. So fresh, so clean! Gonna see Kanye West! Yeah, dem Red Monkey Jeans I'm rockin'! Khalil Amani & Kanye West in Denver April 27, 2008. Reppin' that Homo-Hop book to Mr. West. Julia Beverly, Owner of Ozone Magazine @ Rick Ross Concert June '08 Denver. As you see, I rep my shyt to the fullest! Summer Jam '08, I don't be fakin'! Yeah, I'm fucked up on that Henny & Coke. "Gayngsta"/Homo Thug/Rapper Deadlee and author Khalil Amani, Ese to S.A. Gay/Straight Coalition... of the willing. Author/Spiritual Advisor Khalil Amani & Gay Rapper Deadlee on Howard Stern Show, June 2007. Yeah, I was/am a great dancer! I am the Spiritual Voice of Homo-Hop! Self-Proclaimed! Self-Professed!
