About me: KHNS is listener supported, community based public radio serving Alaska's northern panhandle communities. A National Public Radio affiliate and a member of the Alaska Public Radio Network, KHNS provides a wide array of live, local and nationally syndicated programs for residents and visitors to the region.
KHNS began operating on October 1, 1980, under the banner of Lynn Canal Broadcasting, Inc., a federally recognized non-profit organization. It is our mission, "…to inform, educate, enlighten and entertain."
A bit of trivia, the first music heard on KHNS was Pachelbel's Canon (formally known as Canon in D major).
