Born Mark Wayne Williams in Falmouth, Trelawny in Jamaica, he was nicknamed Chris by his mother after his distinctive birth date December 25th. Khristopher enjoyed listening to all genre of music at a tender age and at 12 years old he relocated to Brooklyn, NY where he continued his schooling. He frequented New York area clubs where he followed his love of music on the dancehall scene.
Khristopher was motivated by the singing inspiration of Reggae artistes such as Sanchez, Wayne Wonder, Tony Curtis and international renowned artistes Marvin Gaye and Brian McKnight. He got his first experience of studio life at Don One Studio in Brooklyn where he began to record dub plates for local area sounds. In the mid 1990s, Khristopher met Louis “Flabba” Malcolm in the Bronx where he recorded a cover version of the Backstreet Boys hit “I Want It That Way” on Flabba’s Headache rhythm, which commanded the attention of the music world. His musical talents were acknowledged and his fan base commenced and continues to grow today. On the heels of that success, Khristopher recorded another Backstreet Boys hit cover, “All I have to Give”, on Flabba’s Hurricane rhythm. With this success he continued to perform on shows in the New York tri-state and Connecticut area.
In 1998, Khristopher made a career shift to move back to Jamaica as he wanted to further pursue his musical career through working with other Jamaican producers which included Jeremy Harding, Bobby Digital, and Dilessa (Big Jeans Records). “Who’s Holding Donna”, one of Khristopher’s memorable sing overs, hit 2 on the tri-state’s Top20 Reggae Countdown and received famed recognition internationally. He takes pride in his songwriting abilities which includes original works such as “Can’t Live Without Your Love” produced by Richard “Richie D” Martin, “Can’t Live My Life” produced by Dilessa on the Big Jeans Record label, and “It’s On” and “Bring It On”, both produced by Mo Music. Khristopher has graced the stage with such names as Wayne Wonder, Beenie Man, Tony Curtis, Singing Melody and TOK through regional and international performances.
Since 2003 Khristopher has been working closely with Kingston 6 Rekords/BYG Family Musik with Akiliboy (Producer), Lorenzo Lewis (Executive Producer) and Tamara Dasman (Publicist). He has released a number of singles on their label such as “Loving You” on their one drop riddim, Easy Rock and recently “Heavenly Father” on their Taxi +(Plus) Riddim. A remake of Sly & Robbie’s Taxi.
Khristopher’s latest singles include “Sticky Situation” , “Mind Your Business” produced by Fat Eyes, “Promise” on the Love & Devotion Riddim, a Sly & Robbie Production and “She’s Like The Wind” produced by Kingston 6 Rekords. With his passion for music, Khristopher’s sultry voice shows a talent commanded for in the music world. As a singer and songwriter, Khristopher captures the attention of young music lovers. His soulful and passionate sound is one that can be recognized for all who enjoy music.
