Kiai (pronounced key-eye) is a compound of "ki" meaning mind, will, turn-of-mind, spirit... and "ai" being the contraction of the verb "awasu", signifying "to unite". In bujitsu (or the Japanese art of war), it is usually linked to the inner amassing of energy released in a single explosive focus of will, shout, or in one legend a "stare" in which a samurai froze a pack of wolves in their tracks by simply glaring at them. Modern karate refers to the shout that accompanies some kata as "kiai". Students of related arts (such as taiko drumming) also use kiai to focus energy when executing a technique. It is frequently associated with the representation of Asian martial arts in cinema and in animated cartoons.

Our old bio used to be like giving ourselves a blowjob... It told everyone how fantastic we are... Frankly, it was shit. Then we had some shit about Voltron up for a while, but nostalgia sucks... We're not great with humour, so you wont be getting one of those new age "we don't take ourselves seriously, so here's something to make you laugh" bios... We're just four dudes from Sydney who play in a rock band... We listen to shit like Hot Water Music, At The Drive In, Thursday, Samiam and The Get Up Kids... That may give you an indication of what we sound like. We got lucky when we started... We got to tour with Sparta, played TOC '07, supported Boys Night Out and got to hang out with Against Me and The Draft when we opened Come Together in '07... We've just dropped a new EP, buy it, I need money for therapy cos my band hasn't "made it" yet.
