About Kicking Jimmy Is Not A Band Anymore. Reunion Maybe
Nobody wants to hear/cares about the history Kicking Jimmy. So here's a little rundown.
We're Kicking Jimmy.
The band was started by Gimpy and Kevin Spaz around Thanksgiving 2004, from the ruins of the bands Up Against and Vespa!.
Origionally just an idea in Kevin's head, the band was kickstarted when Cory agreed to joining Kicking Jimmy. Viola. KJ was born.
Captain Hook came in the band new to bass guitar (and pretty much terrible at it). He was origionally only in the band as incentive for KJ's former lead guitar player, Kyle Kalnasy to join the band. Kyle left soon after, but Jake stayed with the band and he has become the bass master we know and love now.
Kicking Jimmy has had about 3 or 4 different horn sections come in and out of the band. At some point, after so much failure, there has to be a point where you just have to say "Fuck it.".
Consequently, we don't really do the horn thing anymore.Well, for any new music at least.
Kicking Jimmy has some of the best energy and one of the most frantic live shows any Michigan punk/ska band has to offer. They have shared the stage with many of the punk, ska, and hardcore bands from Wayne County, Washtenaw County and Livingston County.
With that being said, you will see more of Kicking Jimmy at a venue near you bringing you the dopest rhymes, and finest Punk/SkaCore that Michigan has to offer.

“You know, there are all those ska bands out there. Yeah, Punk-Ass ska bands that are fucking trying to blow the scene. You know what I mean? And, you know, we’re here. We’re East Coast, we’re true to the ska and the punk. We can’t let these bands get so full of themselves. We gotta bring them down to Earth! Sometimes it takes a bullet! Sometimes it takes a bullet!”
