“KICK YOUR DONKEY”
Kick Your Donkey is a fast paced, energetic, Pop- Punk/Alternative Rock trio from Fort Worth, Texas. Connor Curtis plays lead guitar and is the lead vocalist. Nick Benz plays bass and does backup vocals. Dylan Curtis is the drummer. Connor has been playing lead guitar for six years. He also plays, piano, electric bass, and stand-up bass. Nick has been playing bass for one year. He also plays piano, and drums. Dylan has been playing drums for six years, and also plays piano and stand-up bass.
Connor and Dylan started playing together as Kick Your Donkey in 2006. They have played in coffee shops, parades, private parties, school assemblies, school talent shows (first place two years in a row), and in clubs around the central Texas area, like Old Kelly’s (Abilene), The Door (Fort Worth), The Door (Dallas), The Aardvark, J.J.’s Guitar and boards (Abilene), Fat Daddy’s Sound Shack (Lewisville), Lake Sweetwater Rock Fest (Sweetwater), Hangman’s House of Horrors, Lone Star Country Club (Coppell), and The Loft at The Palladium Ballroom. Kick Your Donkey was nominated For Band of The Year, Band on The Horizon, and Dylan was nominated for Drummer of The Year in The Blues n Rock Gazette 2008 Music Awards (Abilene, Tx.). Kick Your Donkey is a band that is inspired by bands like, Blink 182,A Day to Remember, Attack Attack!, All Time Low, We The Kings, The Devil Wears Prada, and many others.
Connor and Dylan met Nick at the beginning of 2008. They knew he was awesome on the piano, and thought he would be a good fit for the band on bass. Connor, Dylan and Nick love writing music, and playing live, for audiences of all ages. They also like surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, disc golf and girls.
