SHELLY
SHORT is a native and current resident of Portland, Oregon, songwriter
and singer Shelley Short grew up among characters and artists in a
wood-heated home stocked with books, records, and well-cooked meals. As
Short recounts: “It was like growing up in a time machine; in some ways
we lived like it was 1896, chopping wood, growing our own food, wearing
eclectic clothes in a Victorian home and singing our own songs. After
three lovely years in Chicago, Short has hit the road of late, opening
for likes of M. Ward and Loudon Wainright III, Nate Query of The
Decemberists, as well as friends Whispertown 2000, Tom Brosseau,

BJOERN KLEINHENZ lives on a desert island. He sits in a very small room recording very small songs. He stomps his big foot in the chalky Faro ground and listens carefully. He claims nowadays to be a mountain. Bjoern is also a young man with big thoughts with just as beautiful words, he could have been born somewhere across the ocean in the middle of a desert, but i think any where this gentleman lands and hangs his hat he will make his own island and find a way to create great things. KID IKARUS_with punkrock in his heart, love of experiments in the head and a precocious diletantism in the fingertips Kid Ikarus makes... living room beats with landscape bleeps on sound storage media ending in an entertaining lo-fi mess with charasmatic live shows. In one moment songstructures hailing from a posthard core background meet one-man-show-poppycock, and the next instrumental jewels meet electronic puppet theater. It's all about the mixture of handicrafts, driving beats, ticklish synth melodies and a dash of coincidence. Needless to say Mister Ikarus is a storyteller with a monster truck humor and dancestep to boot.

Pompeii veröffentlichten kürzlich ihr neues Album "Nothing Happens For A Reason" auf Eyeball Records (Tiger Lou, An Albatross, Wolftron). Im September kommen sie nun endlich auch nach Europa. Man darf sich auf perfekt vorgetragene IndiePopSongs im Stile von Death Cab For Cutie, Moving Mountains oder Appleseed Cast freuen.
Sie haben innerhalb eines Jahres mehr Gehörgänge und Clubeinrichtungen zerstört als manch andere Band in ihrer ganzen Karriere. Und das, obwohl man dem Grand Pocket Orchestra aus Irland kein erhöhtes Aggressionspotenzial zuschreiben würde, wenn man sich nur auf den Genuss ihrer Tonträger beschränkt. Angenehmer Gänseblümchenpop im Stile von Animal Collective ist da zu hören, den auch Notwist-Mann Mario Thaler zu schätzen weiß. Er war so begeistert vom GPO, dass er sich aufmachte nach Dublin und dort Songs mit ihnen produzierte.

on their self-titled album, the terrordactyls' quirky, lighthearted yet decidedly melancholic pop/anti-folk tunes are augmented by toy pianos, kazoos, and the voice of kimya dawson (the moldy peaches, juno). despite all these charming trappings, though, nothing really serves to take the edge off the terrordactyls' gutsy interpretation of the sad sweetness (or sweet sadness) of living.
