Following the runaway success of the first Nana record, Bamba Gas Coin, Coolhurst’s new release, “The Came To Play” is set to cement his reputation on the funk and breaks scene even further. Teaming up with New York DJ Emskee, "They Came" is a mid-tempo slice of awesome funk, backed with old skool rap and afrobeat horns. Also on the a-side is collaboration with Baltimore MC Substantial, “Dance”, a track of pure dusty funk brilliance, where Sub's cool verses and catchy chorus ensure that this is another sure-fire floor-filler. They Came To Play is out on download now, and will shortly be released on 180 gram vinyl too!

Kid Circus is well known as a purveyor of the funkiest electro, house and breaks, and his talents as a producer have been quietly gaining him increasing attention.
Since a well-received Cr2 release under his Barbara from Brazil alias (showcasing his other love - house music), Kid also been putting out latin-inspired funk under the name Coolhurst. His debut release on Freestyle Records caught the attention of major tastemakers on the scene.
However, it was the second Coolhurst release, Bamba Gas Coin, combining organic latin grooves with tight drum programming which drew support from among others, Gilles Peterson, Mark Ronson and Craig Charles who has played the track on his Soul and Funk Show. Needless to say, the record sold out in it's first week!.
Live and direct, Kid combines his love of funk and breaks with disco, house, re-edits and his cheekiest bootlegs to concoct a melting pot of dancefloor heat.
In between knocking out stonking remixes like the Freestylers' “Push Up” track on Data and disco dons Supersonic Lovers on Love is War Music, Kid is working on tracks for a Coolhurst debut album and live show, plus a slew of cheeky re-edits and bootlegs, and more Barbara goodness.....Whew!
